Some Telenor customers were offered a way to pay Netflix subscription charges through their mobile bill under a partnership announced in 2017. That announcement covered 13 countries, but it does not establish that direct carrier billing is available to every Telenor customer today. Netflix’s billing guidance is country-specific, so check the options for your market before signing up.
What Telenor and Netflix announced in 2017
On 27 February 2017, The Nation Thailand reported a Telenor–Netflix partnership spanning 13 countries. The agreement included mobile payments, set-top-box integration and joint marketing. Telenor’s then chief marketing officer, Gunnar Sellag, said the partnership could let customers pay Netflix subscription charges through their mobile bill.

That is evidence of what the companies announced at the time—not confirmation that the billing option is still active in every market, or that every Telenor plan or account qualifies.
Can you pay for Netflix through Telenor now?
There is no single answer for all Telenor customers. Netflix’s “Using Netflix with a Telenor Package” and “Netflix Billing through Telenor” require a country selection; the reviewed United States view does not provide market-specific details. Availability and instructions therefore need to be checked for the country where your Telenor service is registered.

Netflix says payment methods vary by market. In a 28 June 2022 article, its Director of Payments for Asia Pacific described a range of payment methods intended to let members pay in ways suited to their market. Netflix also reported that alternative-payment signups in the region more than tripled from 2020 to 2021, alongside the addition of 16 payment partners. Those figures are regional and do not measure Telenor signups or establish current Telenor availability.
Carrier billing, app payment and bundles are different
“Pay through Telenor” can refer to different arrangements. The channel matters: a payment made in a carrier app does not necessarily mean Netflix is charged to a monthly phone bill, and a streaming bundle is not the same as direct billing.

What the Denmark CBB MIX offer is
On 23 January 2025, Telenor Denmark said Netflix had joined CBB MIX, a package through which customers can choose and combine streaming services with a mobile subscription. The announcement described Netflix Standard as included in the base package, with Premium available for an additional amount at that time. These details describe the offer when announced and may change; they should not be treated as current prices or as a general Telenor billing policy.

How to check the option for your account
- Identify your market. Use the country where your Telenor mobile account is registered; a Telenor offer in one country does not prove availability in another.
- Open Netflix’s Telenor billing guidance. Visit Netflix Billing through Telenor or Using Netflix with a Telenor Package, then select your country.
- Confirm the actual payment route. Check whether the option charges an eligible telecom account, appears on a mobile bill, runs through the My Telenor app, or is part of a bundle. Do not assume these are interchangeable.
- Check account-specific terms before subscribing. Verify plan eligibility, any extra charge, the Netflix tier included, and how to manage or cancel the subscription with the relevant local Netflix or Telenor service.
