Can You Pause Vidgo? What’s Known About Live TV, DVR, and Playback

There is no reliable current yes-or-no answer. Vidgo’s available materials do not verify whether live TV can be paused today. One App Store reviewer reported being unable to pause ESPN on September 17, 2023, but that is a dated individual experience—not a current rule for every channel, device, or account.

What the evidence says about pausing Vidgo

Vidgo’s website describes live TV and cloud DVR, but it also uses prelaunch language: it says the app will be available soon and invites visitors to sign up for launch updates. That page does not confirm that Vidgo is currently available or that its live streams can be paused. Vidgo’s website

The Apple App Store listing preserves historical feature descriptions and update notes through 2023. A customer review dated September 17, 2023, from a reviewer displayed as “zzzsportsfan,” says, “Can’t pause ESPN.” This indicates that one reviewer encountered a pause limitation in that context. It does not establish whether the cause was ESPN, a particular device or app version, the account or package, or a temporary problem, and it is not an official Vidgo policy. The available records do not establish Vidgo’s current service status, working app availability, or live-pause behavior by channel, device, or package. A definitive answer would require current confirmation from Vidgo.

Pause, rewind, DVR, and VOD resume are different

These features can sound interchangeable, but they do different jobs. Vidgo’s historical feature descriptions do not prove that any one of them is currently available.

What to try if you have a working Vidgo app

1. Open the live channel and check the app’s on-screen playback controls for a pause option. The available evidence does not guarantee that a control will appear or work on every channel.
2. If pausing is unavailable, check whether the program is offered through cloud DVR or on demand. A recording or VOD resume feature is not the same as pausing the live stream.
3. Confirm service and app availability through a current official Vidgo channel before relying on old app descriptions or compatibility information.

Why a Roku pause feature may not help

Roku’s Live TV Pause is documented for live TV received through an antenna or directly connected cable input, using a USB drive. It does not automatically add pause controls to an internet stream played in the Vidgo app, and it is not evidence that Vidgo supports live pause. Roku: How to use Live TV Pause
