Yes. The ASRock X470 Taichi lists DDR4-3200 and DDR4-3466+ as overclocked memory speeds for Pinnacle Ridge processors, the generation that includes the Ryzen 7 2700X. Those are motherboard capability ratings—not a guarantee that a particular CPU, memory kit, and DIMM layout will run stably at either speed. Without the kit model and module configuration, there is no reliable universal frequency or voltage to recommend.
What memory speeds does the X470 Taichi list for the 2700X?
ASRock groups Pinnacle Ridge processors in the X470 Taichi manual’s memory table. For that CPU generation, it lists DDR4-2133, 2400, 2667, and 2933 without an OC label, followed by DDR4-3200 (OC) and DDR4-3466+ (OC). The board’s specification page identifies memory support and links to its memory-support reference.
“OC” matters: 3200 and 3466+ are overclocked settings, not guaranteed stable speeds. The manual’s table also varies by DIMM population, so do not read the highest number as a promise for every arrangement of modules. The board has four DDR4 slots and supports dual-channel memory; ASRock recommends identical pairs for dual-channel operation and says one or three installed modules will not activate dual channel. Check the manual’s Pinnacle Ridge table for the frequency associated with your exact slot population.

Start with the memory kit’s specifications and the configuration in which you will use it. A matched pair in the board’s recommended two-module slots is a sensible baseline. Then look up the exact part number in ASRock’s memory-support reference linked from the X470 Taichi support page. A listing helps establish that the board vendor has a reference for the kit; it does not guarantee a particular result with every CPU or BIOS.
#1 Best Overall
- Disclaimer: Maximum Speed requires overclocking/PC BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depend on system components, including motherboard and CPU
- Hand-sorted memory chips ensure high performance with generous overclocking headroom
- VENGEANCE LPX is optimized for wide compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD DDR4 motherboards
- A low-profile height of just 34mm ensures that VENGEANCE LPX even fits in most small-form-factor builds
- A solid aluminum heatspreader efficiently dissipates heat from each module so that they consistently run at high clock speeds
If the kit has a rated memory profile, that profile is a practical starting point, but it is not a guarantee from the CPU or motherboard manufacturer. If the system is new to tuning or the configuration is uncertain, begin conservatively rather than jumping straight to the board’s highest OC figure. Frequency is only one part of the result: module count, rank where known, timings, and stability matter too.
How to change memory settings in UEFI
- Record the current settings. Note the memory frequency and any existing profile or manual values so you know what to restore.
- Begin from a known baseline. Load defaults if necessary, and use a matched pair in the recommended two-module slots where possible.
- Open OC Tweaker. In DRAM Timing Configuration, find DRAM Frequency. The manual says Auto allows the board to choose the frequency. DRAM Voltage is a separate setting.
- Change one thing at a time. Enable the kit’s rated profile if available, or select a conservative frequency. Do not apply an arbitrary voltage or timing recipe: ASRock’s manual does not provide a universal 2700X-specific one.
- Validate before relying on the setting. A successful boot alone does not demonstrate stability. Check the system under your normal workloads and use a suitable memory-stability test; the cited manual does not prescribe a particular test or pass threshold.
What if the system fails to boot or shows errors?
- If it does not boot after a change, revert to the previous known-stable settings. If you cannot reach UEFI, clear CMOS using the procedure in the X470 Taichi manual.
- If memory errors or other instability appear, lower the frequency or return to defaults before trying another change.
- Do not keep using a setting just because it boots once. Treat errors, crashes, or failed boots as evidence that the current configuration is not dependable.
What to know about overclocking risk and support
ASRock warns that overclocking—including BIOS adjustments—can affect stability or damage components and says it is done at the user’s own risk and expense. It also says configurations outside the product’s original specifications are not guaranteed. The X470 Taichi product page states that the board was discontinued in April 2020; technical and security support may continue for up to six years after end of life, subject to supplier support availability. That statement does not establish a specific BIOS version or compatibility outcome for a particular kit.
