Yes. You can change a Samsung Galaxy Watch band, but the attachment system and compatible replacements depend on the exact model and case size. Identify your watch before buying a band: Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra use dedicated systems that do not fit older Galaxy Watch bands.
How to change a Galaxy Watch band
Samsung’s instructions vary by band design and watch generation, so use the release mechanism built into your particular band. For example, Samsung’s Watch6 One-Click bands use a release button. Samsung’s band-changing guide covers model-specific attachment guidance.
- Check the watch and replacement band. Confirm the exact Galaxy Watch model and that the replacement is listed as compatible with it.
- Release the existing band using its mechanism. For a Watch6 One-Click band, press the release button and pull the band away from the watch.
- Fit the replacement. For a Watch6 One-Click band, position the replacement and release the button so it snaps into place.
- Check the connection. Before wearing the watch, confirm the band is attached securely.
Samsung says its One-Click bands also fit Watch4 and Watch5 series. Other band styles or generations may attach differently; do not assume the One-Click steps apply to every Galaxy Watch.

Which bands fit your Galaxy Watch?
Start with the model name and case size, then check Samsung’s compatibility guidance and the replacement band’s listing. A stated width alone does not guarantee compatibility: lug shape, attachment design and model-specific fit caveats also matter. Samsung’s guidance, accessed in 2026, lists these key distinctions:

Check band width, wrist size and intended use
- Match the exact watch. Verify generation, model and case size, especially for Watch8, Watch Ultra and Watch3.
- Confirm the attachment system. A matching width does not override a dedicated connector or a model-specific fit caveat.
- Measure your wrist. For the models covered by Samsung’s stated sizing guidance, S/M fits wrists measuring 130–190 mm, while M/L fits 145–205 mm. Check the specific band listing because size availability may vary.
- Choose for the way you will wear it. Samsung presents different styles and exercise-oriented fits as reasons to change bands. Consider material and intended use, but Samsung’s guidance does not establish independent comfort, durability or performance comparisons.
- Prefer a clearly identified compatible band. Check Samsung’s compatibility list or the band maker’s exact model and case-size listing rather than relying on a generic “Galaxy Watch” label.
Samsung recommends dedicated bands to optimize smartwatch design and health-measurement tracking. That is manufacturer guidance, not a finding from an independent comparison.
