Yes. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro can measure blood pressure through Samsung Health Monitor, provided the feature is available for your region, phone, and software. It is not a standalone cuff replacement: you need a separate upper-arm blood pressure monitor to calibrate the watch and recalibrate it every 28 days.
How the Watch5 Pro blood-pressure feature works
Samsung Health Monitor uses blood-pressure readings from an upper-arm cuff to calibrate the watch. After calibration, you can take readings from the app on the watch between calibrations. Samsung requires three cuff readings within 30 minutes during calibration. The cuff is sold separately.
Samsung says blood-pressure support is available on Galaxy Watch4 and later, which includes the Watch5 Pro, but that does not mean every owner can use it. Samsung’s U.S. support page lists an Android 12 or later phone and a Galaxy smartwatch running Wear OS 4.0 or later as requirements. Samsung also says the U.S. rollout began in phases on March 31, 2026, for select users; availability can vary by market and device. Check Samsung’s blood-pressure setup and compatibility guidance and its U.S. rollout announcement for current details.

Do you need a blood-pressure cuff?
Yes. You need a separate upper-arm cuff-based monitor for the initial calibration and again every 28 days. The watch can provide readings between those calibrations, but it does not remove the need for the cuff-based reference. Samsung’s instructions call for three cuff readings entered into Samsung Health Monitor within a 30-minute window.

How to set it up and take a reading
- Check compatibility and availability. Confirm that your phone and watch meet Samsung’s current software requirements and that Samsung Health Monitor’s blood-pressure feature is available in your region and account rollout.
- Install and open Samsung Health Monitor. Set up the app on a compatible phone and watch, following Samsung’s on-screen instructions.
- Calibrate with an upper-arm cuff. Take three cuff readings within 30 minutes and enter them in the phone app as directed.
- Prepare for a measurement. Sit and rest for at least five minutes. Keep the watch snug on the same wrist used for calibration. For at least 30 minutes beforehand, avoid smoking, bathing, exercise, alcohol, and caffeine.
- Start the measurement on the watch. Open Samsung Health Monitor on the watch and follow its blood-pressure measurement prompts. Recalibrate with the cuff every 28 days.
For the exact setup and preparation instructions, see Samsung’s blood-pressure support page.
What the reading is—and is not—meant to tell you
Samsung explicitly cautions: “The blood pressure function is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease.” The available Samsung materials do not establish an accuracy percentage for the Watch5 Pro, so a numeric accuracy claim would not be justified.

The FDA’s September 16, 2025 safety communication advises consumers not to use unauthorized blood-pressure devices, including wearable software features that claim to measure or estimate blood pressure. If your care depends on accurate readings, the FDA recommends asking a health-care provider about an appropriate FDA-authorized device. Samsung’s materials cited here do not establish the authorization status of a particular Watch5 Pro configuration. Read the FDA safety communication and follow your clinician’s advice for medical decisions.
When the feature may not be available
- Your phone or watch does not meet Samsung’s current software requirements.
- The feature has not reached your account or device in a phased rollout.
- Samsung Health Monitor blood-pressure support is unavailable in your market.
Samsung’s Watch5 launch information also notes that feature availability can vary by market and device. If the option is missing, check the app and software requirements on Samsung’s support page rather than assuming that the Watch5 Pro model itself is unsupported. See Samsung’s Watch5 series feature-availability note.
