Yes, but not as a guaranteed result at every graphics setting. Published tests put the M6 Mac mini near 60 frames per second at 1080p with Cyberpunk 2077’s Mac-optimized preset or lower-quality settings; demanding presets run slower. The setting and whether the image is upscaled matter as much as the 60 FPS headline.
Can the M6 Mac mini run Cyberpunk 2077 at 60 FPS in 1080p?
It can get close to 60 FPS with optimized settings, and some reported results reach that mark. Tom’s Guide measured a steady 56 FPS at 1080p using the game’s “For this Mac” preset. Notebookcheck’s 2026 results show 72 FPS on Low and 55.1 FPS on Medium at 1920×1080, but performance falls below 60 on the higher presets.
These are results from particular test configurations, not a promise that every M6 Mac mini will hold a locked 60 FPS. The available figures do not establish a universal result at native 1920×1080 with ray tracing enabled. “About 56–60 FPS with optimized settings” is more accurate than saying the system always delivers 60 FPS.

M6 Mac mini Cyberpunk benchmark
Notebookcheck’s 2026 results show how sharply the preset changes the frame rate at 1920×1080:
#1 Best Overall
- Apple-designed M1 chip for a giant leap in CPU, GPU, and machine learning performance
- 8-core CPU packs up to 3x faster performance to fly through workflows quicker than ever*
- 8-core GPU with up to 6x faster graphics for graphics-intensive apps and games*
- 16-core Neural Engine for advanced machine learning
- 8GB of unified memory so everything you do is fast and fluid
| Graphics preset | Reported frame rate | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 72 FPS | Notebookcheck, 2026; reported at 1920×1080. |
| Medium | 55.1 FPS | Notebookcheck, 2026; reported at 1920×1080. |
| High | 43.8 FPS | Notebookcheck, 2026; reported at 1920×1080. |
| Ultra | 37.5 FPS | Notebookcheck, 2026; reported at 1920×1080. |
| “For this Mac” | Steady 56 FPS | Tom’s Guide, 2026; reported at 1080p. |
The two publications’ figures should not be treated as a head-to-head comparison: the available information does not establish matching test methods or identical settings. Neither summary supplies an average-versus-minimum breakdown. A user report of 60 FPS at 1080p with high settings and upscaling is another data point, but it is uncontrolled and does not establish a repeatable benchmark.
Cyberpunk 2077 Mac mini M6 settings
If your goal is a frame rate near 60 FPS, start with the game’s Mac-specific “For this Mac” preset or a lower-quality preset. Notebookcheck’s results indicate that Medium averages below 60 FPS and High and Ultra fall further behind, so a more demanding preset may require reducing image quality or using scaling.

- Preset: The “For this Mac” result reported by Tom’s Guide was 56 FPS; Notebookcheck reported 72 FPS on Low at 1920×1080.
- Upscaling: A user report reached 60 FPS using upscaling, but it does not specify a controlled test method. An upscaled 1080p output is not the same as rendering every frame at native 1920×1080.
- Ray tracing: Apple’s claim concerns a relative performance improvement over M4, not a specific M6 frame rate with ray tracing turned on. The published benchmark summaries here do not establish a universal 60 FPS result with ray tracing enabled.
- Memory and frame consistency: The cited results do not provide a frame-rate minimum or establish how performance changes between M6 memory configurations. Treat the published FPS as configuration-specific rather than a guarantee for every model.
CD PROJEKT RED’s High Fidelity Mac guidance calls for an M2 Max or M3 Max with 32GB of RAM and targets 60 FPS at 1800×1125 or 1920×1080. That guidance is not an M6 Mac mini benchmark, but it underscores why a 60 FPS target should not be assumed at the game’s more demanding settings.

Apple announced the M6 Mac mini on August 25, 2026, with a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. Apple says it offers “Up to 2x faster gaming performance with ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition when compared to Mac mini with M4.” That is an improvement relative to the M4 Mac mini; it does not say the M6 runs at 60 FPS, nor does it specify an absolute frame rate for a particular preset.

At WWDC26, Apple Developer showed a Mac Cyberpunk demonstration and described it as running at 60 frames per second “with out of the box settings.” That statement refers to the demonstrated setup, not every M6 Mac mini configuration or graphics preset. It should not be combined with the separate Notebookcheck figures as though both used identical hardware and settings.
Is 1080p/60Hz easy to connect?
Yes. Apple Support documents that the M6 Mac mini can drive a 4K display at 60Hz over HDMI, so a 1080p/60Hz display is within its documented external-display support. That confirms display compatibility, not that the game will render at 60 FPS. A 60Hz screen can show up to 60 refreshes per second, while the game’s frame rate depends on its settings and workload.

Should you buy an M6 Mac mini for Cyberpunk 2077?
Buy it for Cyberpunk if you are comfortable using the Mac-optimized or lower-quality presets to stay near 60 FPS. If you expect a locked 60 FPS at native 1080p on High or Ultra, the published figures do not support that expectation: Notebookcheck reported 43.8 FPS on High and 37.5 FPS on Ultra. Apple lists the M6 Mac mini at a U.S. starting price of $899 in 2026; that starting price is not a benchmark or a statement about the cost of a particular memory configuration.
Choose settings based on what you value most: lower presets favor frame rate, while higher presets trade smoothness for visual detail. If you use upscaling to approach 60 FPS, remember that the displayed output resolution does not necessarily match the game’s internal rendering resolution.
