Yes. PlayStation lists the Sony BRAVIA XR A95L among the Android TV models that support PS Remote Play. The TV app requires Android TV OS 12 or later, so check the software version installed on your TV and look for PS Remote Play in its app store. Remote Play streams a game from your PS4 or PS5; it does not run console games natively on the TV.
What you need to play
- A BRAVIA XR A95L running Android TV OS 12 or later, with PS Remote Play available in the TV’s app store.
- A PS4 or PS5 console with Remote Play enabled, connected to the internet and either powered on or configured to remain accessible in rest mode.
- The free PS Remote Play app, a PlayStation account matching the one used on the console, and a compatible controller.
- Broadband of at least 5 Mbps. PlayStation recommends at least 15 Mbps for a better experience; actual quality and connection stability depend on network conditions.
PlayStation’s PS Remote Play page states: “Download the PS Remote Play app on a BRAVIA XR A95L model TV, or a Chromecast with Google TV device, and play with a DualSense or DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller.”
How to set up Remote Play on the A95L
- On the TV, check that Android TV OS is version 12 or later. Open the TV’s app store and search for PS Remote Play. If the app is not listed, verify the installed software version and check again; PlayStation’s model support listing does not establish the app’s visibility on every individual TV.
- On the PS4 or PS5, enable Remote Play in the console settings. Make sure the console can connect to the internet while on, or while in rest mode if you want to wake it remotely.
- Install and open PS Remote Play on the TV. Sign in with the same PlayStation account used on the console, then select the console to connect.
- Pair a compatible DualSense or DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller with the TV and use it to play.
- For a more reliable stream, aim for at least 15 Mbps broadband where possible. PlayStation’s minimum is 5 Mbps, but meeting that threshold does not guarantee a particular resolution, responsiveness, or uninterrupted play.
Controller and game limitations
Remote Play does not support every game or feature. Games that require a VR headset or other additional peripherals are among the exceptions. On Android TV, DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, controller audio output, and the built-in microphone are not supported. DUALSHOCK 4 also has feature and audio limitations, so controller compatibility does not mean every controller function is available.
Latency can increase when the console and TV are farther apart or when the network connection is less favorable. Remote Play performance is therefore distinct from playing with the console connected directly to the TV.

- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
What the A95L’s display and HDMI features mean
Sony identifies the A95L as a 2023 BRAVIA XR MASTER Series television. Sony’s specifications for the XR-65A95L describe a QD-OLED panel with 3840 × 2160 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision compatibility. Size and regional configurations can vary; consult the support listing for the exact model variant.
The TV has four HDMI inputs. Sony lists 4K120, variable refresh rate (VRR), and auto low latency mode (ALLM) on HDMI inputs 3 and 4. These features are relevant when a console is connected directly by HDMI. PS Remote Play instead sends a network stream to the TV, so HDMI 2.1 features do not remove the need for a console, supported app, compatible controller, and adequate network.

Sony’s current US support listing for the XR-65A95L shows a firmware update dated June 23, 2026. Firmware, installed Android TV OS version, and app availability are separate checks; use the support page for the specific size and regional model when checking updates.
