Yes—eligible Verizon Fios TV subscribers can watch on a television using the Fios TV Home app on supported Apple TV and Fire TV devices. The setup requires an eligible Fios TV and Home Internet package, a qualifying Verizon set-top box, and a Fios router. If you only have the Fios TV Mobile app, that is a separate service route: it supports mobile devices and listed Chromecast models, not Smart TVs or Fire TV.
Use the Fios TV Home app for a connected TV
The Fios TV Home app lets eligible subscribers access Fios TV service through a supported streaming device plugged into a television. Verizon requires an eligible TV and Home Internet package, at least one installed Verizon Media Server, Fios TV+ or Fios TV One box, and a Fios router. Check your account and equipment before buying a streaming device; general support information cannot confirm eligibility for an individual account. Verizon’s Fios TV Home app FAQs describe the requirements.
Verizon’s supported-device list includes Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K running tvOS 16 or later, plus selected Fire TV devices running OS 7.0 or later. The listed Fire TV options include Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Stick (3rd generation), Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV (3rd generation), Fire TV Cube, and selected Amazon Fire TV televisions from TCL, Toshiba, Insignia and Pioneer. Compatibility applies to the exact model and operating system, not every device sold under a brand name. See Verizon’s current device list before purchasing because it can change.

Device authorization and DVR limits
Depending on the Fios TV package, personal streaming devices may need individual authorization. Verizon says an individually authorized device may be authorized up to twice per calendar month; a package with unlimited devices does not require individual authorization. Streaming devices support a maximum of two DVR streams at one time. Verizon’s FAQs explain the account-specific authorization details: Fios TV Home app FAQs.

Why the router matters
Verizon requires a Fios router for the Fios TV Home app setup and warns that non-Verizon routers may restrict channel access, DVR recording management, or DVR streaming. Its stated caution is: “Non-Verizon routers can’t access all channels or manage and stream DVR recordings through the Fios TV Home app.” Check the app’s feature requirements if you use your own router. Use Fios TV Mobile on a phone, tablet, or Chromecast
Fios TV Mobile is a companion app, not the same TV-connected app. Verizon lists support for iOS devices running iOS 12 or later, Android devices running Android 5.0 or later, Amazon Kindle and Fire devices running Android 5.0 or later, and Chromecast generations 1, 2, 3 and Ultra. Its unsupported-device list includes Smart TVs, Fire TV, Android TV and Chromebooks. Check Verizon’s Fios TV Mobile app support page for details.

Mobile live-channel access depends on your subscribed Fios TV package and whether your device is connected to your own Fios router. Verizon treats connection to another Fios household’s router as out-of-home, not in-home. Select live TV is available within the United States and its territories, but channels and features vary by location status and subscription, and not every channel in the Fios lineup is available in the app. See Verizon’s Fios TV Mobile information and its Fios TV Mobile FAQs.
Fios TV Home, Fios TV Mobile, and Verizon Stream TV are different
| Option | Where it plays | Key requirements or limits |
|---|---|---|
| Fios TV Home app | Supported Apple TV and Fire TV devices connected to a television | Eligible Fios TV and Home Internet package, qualifying Verizon set-top box, Fios router, and supported device/OS; features can be limited with a non-Verizon router. Verizon |
| Fios TV Mobile app | Supported mobile devices and listed Chromecast models | Channel and feature availability depend on subscription and in-home/out-of-home status; Verizon lists Smart TVs and Fire TV as unsupported for this app. Verizon |
| Verizon Stream TV | A separate Wi-Fi streaming device connected to a television or monitor by HDMI | Verizon says it works with almost any internet service; a Verizon wireless or Fios Internet account is needed to buy or rent VOD titles. Its FAQ does not establish that it replaces the Fios TV Home app’s package, set-top-box, and router requirements. Verizon |
Can you watch Fios TV on a Smart TV without a streaming box?
Not through the Fios TV Mobile app: Verizon lists Smart TVs as unsupported for that app. For the Fios TV Home route, Verizon lists selected Fire TV televisions from TCL, Toshiba, Insignia and Pioneer, as well as supported Apple TV and Fire TV devices. That does not mean every Smart TV has the app, nor does it remove the plan, set-top-box, router, or operating-system requirements.
