Gemini can find and use your Google Keep notes and lists once Keep is connected, but it is a shortcut—not a guarantee that every answer will be complete or correct. In a new chat, ask Gemini to use Keep, check its response against the original note when accuracy matters, and connect the app first if Gemini prompts you to do so.
What Gemini can do with Google Keep
Google says Gemini can create and show Keep notes and lists, find information in them, use them as context for a conversation, and add items to an existing list. You can ask about a topic, request a named list, or use a note to help with a task.
For example, start with @Google Keep Do I have any notes about [project or topic]? or Find my [list name] list in Google Keep. You can also ask Show my Keep lists about [event or goal]. The bracketed text is an instruction to replace with your own topic, list name, event, or goal.
To work from a particular note, try Use my Keep note called [note name] to help me summarize, plan, or draft. When Gemini produces something worth saving, ask Save this to Keep: [useful result from the conversation]. To update a list, ask Add [item] to my [list name] list in Keep. These are examples of supported request types, not a promise that Gemini will interpret every prompt or find every matching note.

What can prevent the connection from working
Access depends on the account and its settings. For a work or school account, Google says you need a qualifying Workspace edition, Keep Activity enabled, and administrator permission to connect apps. The availability of connected apps can also vary by account type, Workspace edition, location, language, device, and Gemini app.
- Personal account: Check that you are signed in to Gemini with the same account that holds the Keep notes and that Keep Activity is on.
- Work or school account: If the connection option is unavailable, your Workspace edition or administrator’s app-access settings may be the reason. Ask your administrator whether the connection is allowed for your account.
- Keep is not named in the request: In a new chat, mention Google Keep or use
@Google Keepso Gemini knows which connected service to use. - The feature is still unavailable: Account, region, language, device, or Gemini-app availability may differ. Google’s work-or-school account guidance describes these conditions in Use apps connected to Gemini with a work or school Google Account.
Where Gemini’s Keep access has limits
Google’s notes-app guidance says Gemini cannot share Keep notes or lists, view images or drawings in notes, or add an image through these connected notes apps. If the detail you need is in a drawing or image, open the note in Keep rather than relying on Gemini to inspect it.

Gemini can also return an incomplete, hallucinated, or outdated answer. Google warns that “Gemini Apps can hallucinate responses or provide outdated information” and advises users to review sources listed after a response. For important names, dates, amounts, or instructions, open the cited note in Keep and confirm the detail there. Connected-app access does not make Gemini a guaranteed search index of every note.
For work and school accounts, an administrator can control app access, and users can enable or disable the Workspace app in Gemini settings. Google says Workspace use is governed by the organization’s Workspace agreement; see the Google Workspace Generative AI Privacy Hub, last updated September 24, 2026.
