Possibly—an HP Envy 13 may run Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, but the Envy 13 name alone is not enough to tell. HP sold this laptop family with different graphics chips, from Intel UHD and Iris Xe integrated graphics to NVIDIA GeForce MX150 and MX350 discrete GPUs. The exact product number and whether you mean GTA V Legacy or Enhanced determine what can be concluded. No tested frame rate is available for the example Iris Xe model, so a specification comparison cannot guarantee smooth play.
Why your exact HP Envy 13 model matters
“HP Envy 13” refers to a family of laptops, not one fixed configuration. HP specifications for different Envy 13 models list Intel UHD Graphics 620, Intel Iris Xe, GeForce MX150 with 2 GB, and GeForce MX350 with 2 GB. Those GPUs are not interchangeable for a game-compatibility decision.
For example, HP’s specification page for the Envy Laptop 13-ba1000nc lists a Core i5-1135G7 processor, 16 GB of onboard DDR4-2666 memory, a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, and Intel Iris Xe graphics. Those CPU, memory, and storage details describe that specific configuration, not every Envy 13. Check the specifications for your exact product number on HP Support before comparing it with a game’s requirements.

Rockstar’s PC system-requirements page lists a minimum of 4 GB RAM, an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 or AMD Phenom 9850 processor, and an NVIDIA 9800 GT with 1 GB or AMD HD 4870 with 1 GB, supporting DirectX 10, 10.1, or 11. HP’s ba1000nc example has 16 GB RAM and a newer named processor, but its Iris Xe is integrated graphics. The cited specifications do not establish that Iris Xe meets Rockstar’s specified discrete-GPU minimum, nor do they supply a benchmark for this laptop.

That means the available facts support a cautious answer, not a performance promise: the example’s listed processor and memory exceed the Legacy minimum figures, while the GPU comparison remains uncertain. Rockstar describes minimum requirements, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or smooth gameplay. Its support page also cautions that downloadable content and programming changes can alter requirements. See Rockstar’s current GTA V PC system requirements.
GTA V Enhanced is a separate compatibility question
Do not use the Legacy comparison as proof that an Envy 13 can run GTA V Enhanced. Steam lists Enhanced separately and specifies an SSD requirement alongside its own, more recent hardware requirements. Check the live listing for the edition’s current CPU and GPU requirements and compare them with the exact laptop configuration; the Legacy minimums do not answer that question. View the GTA V Enhanced listing on Steam.
How to check your laptop before installing
- Identify the product number. Check the laptop’s label or Windows system information, then search for that exact number on HP Support. HP specifications for a similarly named Envy 13 may describe different hardware.
- Confirm the graphics chip and memory. Compare the GPU, processor, and RAM reported for your laptop with the requirements for the edition you intend to install. Rockstar recommends checking PC hardware information, including graphics-chip details, when assessing compatibility. Rockstar Support.
- Choose the game edition and use its own current listing. Compare Legacy against Rockstar’s requirements and Enhanced against its separate store listing. Include storage: the ba1000nc example has a 512 GB SSD, but you must check free space and the selected edition’s current storage requirements.
- Treat an integrated-GPU match as unconfirmed when evidence is missing. If the publisher names discrete graphics cards and provides no equivalence for your integrated GPU, specs alone do not establish performance. A test on the exact laptop and edition is needed to make a frame-rate claim.
Internet and changing requirements
Rockstar says installation and online play require an internet connection for activation, online play, and periodic entitlement verification. It also notes that game updates can change system requirements, so recheck the publisher’s current requirements if you install later or encounter a compatibility issue.
