No official Samsung material reviewed documents a Galaxy Watch that measures blood glucose on its own. Samsung publishes guidance for connecting Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) glucose meters with Samsung Health, and some glucose-device apps may offer smartwatch features. Those are separate from a glucose sensor built into the watch. Whether you can see readings on a particular Galaxy Watch depends on the glucose device, app, phone, software and country.
Can a Samsung Galaxy Watch measure blood sugar?
The Samsung support and feature pages reviewed do not list blood glucose measurement as a built-in Galaxy Watch capability. Samsung describes other health signals, but those sensors should not be treated as a way to infer or diagnose glucose levels.
For example, Samsung Electronics’ June 2026 Vitals announcement says the feature analyzes five overnight signals: heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen. Glucose is not among those listed signals. Samsung Electronics’ announcement

Measuring glucose, importing readings and displaying them are different
Built-in measurement
A watch would need its own glucose-measuring capability to measure glucose independently. The Samsung materials reviewed do not document that capability in a Galaxy Watch. The watch’s standard health sensors are not a substitute for a glucose meter or continuous glucose monitor (CGM).
Data from a separate glucose meter
Samsung Developer lists BLE glucose meter compatibility guidance for connecting glucose meters with Samsung Health. The guidance describes a connection path to Samsung Health; the separate meter is the device that measures glucose. CGM readings shown on a watch
A CGM uses its own sensor and app. A compatible smartwatch feature, where offered, displays or relays readings from that system; it does not mean the watch measured glucose. The manufacturer’s instructions for the exact CGM and app determine which phone and watch combinations are supported.

Can you see Dexcom readings on a Galaxy Watch?
The Dexcom direct-to-watch instructions reviewed describe Apple Watch, not a universal Galaxy Watch setup. They therefore do not confirm that a Galaxy Watch can display readings directly from a Dexcom CGM. Dexcom’s direct-to-watch FAQ

Before relying on a Galaxy Watch for Dexcom information, check the current Dexcom instructions for your CGM model, app, phone and country. Confirm whether the documented option requires the phone to be nearby or supports a direct watch connection; do not assume that an Apple Watch feature also works on Samsung’s watch platform.
Can a Galaxy Watch display FreeStyle Libre readings?

Check Abbott’s current compatibility information for the specific Libre system and app in your country, as well as Samsung’s current instructions for your phone and watch. A phone listed as compatible does not, by itself, establish that a Galaxy Watch can show its readings.

Compatibility is specific to a complete device-and-software setup, not just the watch brand. Verify each of these with the manufacturers before buying a device or relying on watch notifications:

- Glucose device: exact meter or CGM model and sensor.
- Phone: model, operating system and the required glucose-device app.
- Watch: Galaxy Watch generation, software version and supported app or connection method.
- Country: availability and approvals for the relevant app and feature.
- Connection details: whether readings reach the watch through the phone, require the phone nearby or are supported directly on the watch.
The official material reviewed does not provide a complete, current compatibility matrix covering Samsung watches with Dexcom or FreeStyle Libre systems. A support page for one device or region should not be taken as confirmation for another.

Samsung says Health Monitor works only with compatible Samsung phones and watches, is unavailable on other Android models and iOS, and requires use in a country where the relevant feature has launched. Its US support page gives general pairing requirements that include a qualifying Galaxy Watch and a Samsung Galaxy phone running Android 12 or later; individual features may add conditions. Those requirements concern Samsung Health Monitor and its features; they do not establish glucose measurement or CGM display support. Samsung’s UK Galaxy Store listing also describes regional restrictions for some features, including possible loss of availability after travel, a factory reset or reinstall in a country where the service is unavailable. How to check your own setup
- Identify the glucose system. Note the exact meter or CGM model, sensor and companion app.
- Check the glucose-device maker’s compatibility page. Confirm your phone model and operating system, then look for explicit support for the Galaxy Watch model and watch software you plan to use.
- Check Samsung’s local support information. Confirm that the relevant app and feature are available in your country and that your phone-watch pairing meets its requirements.
- Confirm how readings reach the watch. Establish whether the setup displays readings through a phone app or supports a direct watch connection, and whether the phone must remain nearby.
- Follow the device maker’s setup and use instructions. Do not rely on an unconfirmed watch display for treatment decisions.
What to use for glucose monitoring
Use a glucose meter or CGM that is appropriate for your care plan, and follow its manufacturer instructions and your clinician’s guidance. Samsung’s BLE guidance may help identify a route for connecting a separate meter to Samsung Health, but it is not proof that a particular meter or watch pairing is supported. A smartwatch display, if available for your setup, is an additional way to view data—not a replacement for the measuring device or prescribed monitoring workflow.
