Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra more expensive?
Yes. Its reported 256GB U.S. price was about $1,399, roughly $100 above Samsung’s $1,299.99 launch starting price. The reported 512GB and 1TB Ultra prices were $1,599 and $1,999; Tom’s Guide described each as $200 above its previous price. The report does not establish a revised official Samsung price for every configuration.
Prices differ outside the United States
SamMobile reported increases in the U.K., EU, and Canada, following earlier reports from India and South Korea. It described typical changes for many variants of around £80, €80, or CAD 150 in those respective markets, with larger increases for some 1TB Ultra configurations. These are market-specific reported amounts, not currency conversions of the U.S. increases. Local prices and available configurations can differ, so check the listing for your country. SamMobile’s regional report attributes the changes to rising memory-chip costs, but the reviewed source set does not include a primary Samsung statement confirming that explanation.

Practical checks before you buy
- Compare like with like. Confirm both model and storage capacity; the reported change is not identical for every tier, and not every previous tier price is established in the launch reference.
- Check the actual checkout total. Retailer price, stock, trade-in terms, and any offer can change. Treat dated reported prices as a comparison point, not a promise.
- Choose storage for your use. Samsung UK lists 256GB and 512GB choices for S26 and S26+ and advises considering expected photos, video, apps, games, and current phone storage use. Its storage guidance is on the Samsung UK Galaxy S26 FAQ.
- Account for charger availability by market. Samsung UK says the S26 and S26+ include a data cable and SIM ejector but not a charger adapter. That is a UK-specific packaging detail; check the product page for your market before budgeting for an adapter.
- Check any bundled or optional accessories carefully. If buying a case, verify that it names the exact S26, S26+, or Ultra model. Samsung UK also describes trade-in and Samsung Care+ options, but their terms and availability may vary by country.
