The Brother MFC-L2730DW is a discontinued black-and-white laser all-in-one that prints, copies, scans, and faxes. Brother’s specifications make it a capable fit for a home or small office that needs fast monochrome printing, automatic two-sided print output, and a 50-sheet document feeder. Its key limitation: the feeder scans only one side at a time, and copies are not duplex. What the Brother MFC-L2730DW does
Brother describes the MFC-L2730DW as a compact monochrome laser all-in-one for home and small-office use. It combines black-and-white printing and copying with color-capable scanning and faxing. It cannot print in color.
Brother marks the model discontinued on its product page. That does not establish whether any particular retailer has stock, or whether a unit is new, refurbished, or used. Availability, current retail price, and live toner prices are not established here.
Print speed, paper handling, and workload
Brother lists print speed up to 36 pages per minute and a maximum first-page-out time of 8.5 seconds. The speed figure is a manufacturer specification, not an independent test: Brother says it is based on one-sided printing and requires changing a default setting. Actual results depend on document and setup.

Scanning and copying: check the duplex limitation
The automatic document feeder holds up to 50 sheets, but Brother lists duplex scanning as unavailable. The scanner handles both black-and-white and color documents, so color scans are possible even though printed output is monochrome.

Copying is monochrome and also lacks duplex copying. Brother lists a maximum copy resolution of 600 × 600 dpi, ID copy, and reduction or enlargement from 25% to 400%. If your regular workflow involves scanning or copying both sides of multi-page originals, this model requires manually turning the pages; a printer with duplex ADF scanning and duplex copying would be a better match.

The MFC-L2730DW offers 802.11 b/g/n wireless networking, Ethernet, Wi-Fi Direct, and USB 2.0. Toner and drum: two separate supplies
This printer uses a replaceable toner cartridge and a separate drum unit. Brother lists TN-730 standard-yield toner, TN-760 high-yield toner, and the DR730 drum as compatible supplies. The toner cartridge and drum are not interchangeable, so verify the exact printer model and part number when ordering.

Brother describes toner yield as approximate under ISO/IEC 19752 for letter/A4 pages; actual results vary with use. The drum yield also varies by use. These are manufacturer estimates, not independently measured results, and they do not establish today’s supply prices or availability. Brother’s product page also mentions its Refresh EZ Print subscription, but current eligibility and terms should be verified directly rather than assumed.
Warranty, dimensions, and documented limits
Brother lists a one-year limited warranty and describes free support for the life of the printer. The support page is the starting point for current warranty statements and service resources; local coverage and parts availability may vary and are not established here.
Brother lists dimensions of 16.1 × 15.7 × 12.5 inches. The product specification displays a weight of 26 without a unit, so that figure should not be treated as a confirmed weight measurement.
