The Brother HL-L5210DW is a U.S.-market, print-only monochrome laser printer aimed at offices that need networked black-and-white documents, automatic two-sided printing, and room to expand paper capacity. Brother rates it at up to 48 pages per minute and recommends a monthly volume of up to 5,000 pages. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
Is the Brother HL-L5210DW a good printer for a small office?
It is a plausible fit for a small office or workgroup whose routine jobs are black-and-white documents and whose users want Ethernet or Wi-Fi printing. Automatic duplexing, a standard 350-sheet input capacity, and support for mobile printing are useful on paper for shared office use. Its print-only design is a poor fit if you need a scanner, copier, fax, or color output.
Brother’s U.S. product materials provide specifications, but do not establish independent print-quality results, measured real-world speed, noise, reliability, current street price, or current cost per page. Treat the feature list as a basis for judging fit—not as proof of performance beyond the manufacturer’s ratings.

Brother rates the HL-L5210DW at up to 48 pages per minute and lists a maximum resolution of 1200 × 1200 dpi. The speed is a manufacturer-rated figure; actual output can vary with the document, paper, settings, and connection. Brother does not provide independent measurements in the cited U.S. materials.

Workload: recommended volume versus duty cycle
Brother lists a recommended monthly print volume of up to 5,000 pages and a maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 90,000 pages. These figures are not interchangeable: the recommended volume is the more useful planning reference for ordinary ongoing use, while the maximum is a rated ceiling, not a suggested monthly target. Brother says the maximum duty cycle helps compare designed durability among similar Brother products and advises choosing a printer whose duty cycle exceeds expected needs.
Does the Brother HL-L5210DW print double-sided?
Yes. Brother lists automatic two-sided printing, so the printer can print both sides of a sheet without requiring you to turn pages by hand. This applies to printing; the machine is not a copier or scanner.
How much paper does it hold, and can you add trays?
The standard configuration has a 250-sheet adjustable main tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. Brother lists output capacity of up to 150 sheets face down, or one sheet face up. The multipurpose tray accommodates a broader range of custom dimensions than the main tray; the U.S. brochure lists media including plain, letterhead, colored, recycled and bond paper, labels, and envelopes. Check the regional documentation for exact paper-size support if buying outside the United States.

For the U.S. HL-L5210DW, Brother lists the TN920 toner family and DR920 drum unit. The printer includes a TN920 standard-yield cartridge, listed at an approximate 3,000-page yield. The drum is a separate supply, not another toner cartridge. Brother lists the DR920 at approximately 45,000 pages when based on one page per job, or up to 75,000 pages when based on three pages per job. Its life can vary with factors such as media type and size, so these yields should not be treated as a guaranteed replacement schedule. Verify compatibility for your country before purchasing supplies.

Which computers and mobile devices are supported?
