Breville’s Pixl Espresso—called the Pixl Compact by T3—is a £159.99 UK espresso machine with manufacturer-described hot and cold espresso options and a steam wand. It uses ground coffee and has no built-in grinder, so whole-bean drinkers will need pre-ground coffee or a separate grinder.
What the Breville Pixl does
Breville says the Pixl can make hot or cold brew espresso, using automatic temperature control and gentle pre-infusion. Those are manufacturer-described features; the available product information does not include independent test results. “Cold brew espresso” here describes the machine’s cold espresso option, not evidence of a separately verified cold-brew process. Breville’s Pixl Espresso product page lists the black model as SKU VCF193.
For milk drinks, Breville describes a CoolTouch steam wand for steaming and texturing milk. T3 also identifies a built-in steam wand in its 2 October 2026 launch report. This is a wand-based setup rather than a stated automatic milk system: expect to steam and texture milk yourself.
It needs ground coffee
T3 reports that the Pixl takes ground coffee and does not have an integrated grinder. If you currently buy whole beans, you will need a separate grinder or ground coffee suitable for espresso. Neither source establishes a particular grind setting or coffee brand, so check the coffee and machine instructions rather than assuming a specific grind will work.

Price, colours and where to check
Breville’s UK product page and T3’s launch report both give a price of £159.99. The listed price and stock can change, so check the live product page or retailer listing before buying. Breville’s black model page is SKU VCF193; its grey page is VCF202, while the Breville homepage lists an oat-colour model as VCF196.
T3 names Currys, Argos and Amazon as retailers. Breville’s UK stockist directory also lists retailers including AO, John Lewis, Lakeland, Robert Dyas, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. A retailer being named as a stockist does not confirm current availability of the Pixl or a particular colour; check the exact model and seller listing.

What comes with it, and how much space it needs
Breville lists these accessories with the Pixl:
- 350ml stainless steel milk jug
- 52mm portafilter
- Coffee scoop/tamp
- Cleaning pin
The product page gives dimensions of 195 × 330 × 290 mm. Breville displays them in that order; confirm the measurements and how they correspond to your counter space if a tight fit matters. The listed portafilter is 52mm, so do not assume accessories made for Breville machines with 58mm portafilters will fit.
Heat-up and warranty claims
Breville says its Thermoblock Heating Technology provides “over 50% faster heat-up” than the Breville Prima Latte VCF183. That is the manufacturer’s comparison; the available sources do not provide independent measurements to verify it.
