The Breville Nespresso CitiZ&Milk in chrome, SKU BEC660CRO4JAN1, is a compact Nespresso Original-system espresso machine with an integrated Aeroccino3 milk frother. Its published features are straightforward. Its availability is the harder question: Breville now marks the model as discontinued, so before weighing the machine’s features, confirm that a unit can actually be bought in your market.
This is a specification-based review. The figures below come from Breville and Nespresso product pages and the official user manual, and they are attributed to those sources. The article does not report hands-on testing of coffee quality, noise, heat-up in daily use, or durability.
Availability comes first
Breville’s US and Australian product pages describe the CitiZ&milk as discontinued. When Nespresso Australia’s chrome listing was checked in 2026, it showed the model out of stock. Both facts are regional and time-sensitive. They mean the official channels were not offering this unit at the time of checking; they do not mean no unit exists anywhere.
If you are considering a secondhand or old-stock listing, make sure it matches the exact chrome BEC660 variant. Breville’s Australian product page associates the SKU BEC660CRO4JAN1 with the CitiZ&milk, so compare that code with the listing and the machine’s label rather than relying on the product name alone.

What the machine is
This is the chrome Breville version of Nespresso’s CitiZ&Milk. Breville’s official product copy describes it this way: “CitiZ&milk is a compact modern espresso machine fitted with an Aeroccino milk frother to allow you to create an endless number of milk recipes.” That is manufacturer marketing language, and it is quoted here as Breville’s description rather than as an independent assessment.
The machine is built around Nespresso capsules and offers programmable Espresso and Lungo pours. The Aeroccino3 frother is part of the unit, which means milk-based drinks do not require a separate handheld frother.

Brewing and milk
The two programmable pours, Espresso and Lungo, cover the basic drinks the machine is designed for. Breville’s description says the folding cup support accommodates a taller glass, which is useful if you plan to make milk drinks in a tall mug. Because the frother is built in, buyers should confirm that the unit they are offered includes it and its parts before purchase.
Capsules and running costs
Capsules are the main recurring cost. The official product page describes the capsule insertion and ejection mechanism, and it lists a Nespresso capsule tasting box among the included accessories. The manual confirms that the machine uses Nespresso capsules.

Compatibility claims should stay narrow. The evidence supports Nespresso-branded capsules for this Original-system machine. It does not establish that every third-party pod will fit or perform the same way, so check the capsule system against your regional model and the manual before buying an alternative brand.
Descaling is a maintenance task, not a feature. Before using any descaling product, confirm that it is compatible with the instructions in the machine’s manual. No independent evidence on cleaning performance or maintenance cost was located for this model.
Size and placement
At 21.9 × 37.2 cm in width and depth and 27.8 cm in height, the machine has a compact footprint by the listing’s measurements. Measure your intended spot with the frother and any cup support in place, not only the body, because the published height is the body measurement. The used-capsule container is listed at nine capsules by Nespresso Australia; the manual gives a range of nine to eleven, so plan your capsule disposal around the lower figure.

Voltage and warranty
The manual gives a 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz rating. Check that this matches your local supply before plugging in, particularly if the machine was bought in another country or from a secondhand seller. The two-year warranty is listed on the Nespresso Australia page. Warranty terms depend on market and purchase circumstances, so that period should not be assumed for purchases made elsewhere.
What this review cannot tell you
- How the coffee tastes, or how consistent the crema and milk texture are. No tasting or brewing results are reported here.
- How loud the machine is during heating, frothing or ejection.
- How the machine holds up over years of use, or what repairs cost.
- Whether the 25-second heat-up and nine-minute auto-off hold in your kitchen.
- How the machine ranks against other compact capsule machines. No verified model-by-model comparison is offered.
A CHOICE page carries this exact model name. We did not verify any performance findings from it, so none are reported here.
Buying checks before you pay
- Confirm that the listing shows chrome and the SKU BEC660CRO4JAN1.
- Check current stock with the official retailer in your market, since the Australian listing was out of stock when checked in 2026.
- Confirm the voltage matches your supply, and that the unit is the regional variant you need.
- Confirm the Aeroccino3 frother and the included accessories are part of the offer.
- For a secondhand or old-stock unit, confirm the condition, return terms and any warranty directly with the seller or with Breville or Nespresso.
- Measure the counter space with the frother and cup support in place.
Verdict
On the published specifications, the CitiZ&milk chrome is a coherent compact capsule machine: a small body, a removable one-litre tank, an integrated Aeroccino3 frother and two programmable pours. Those features suit a buyer who wants milk drinks without a separate frother and who is willing to stay within the Nespresso capsule system. The main obstacle is not the feature set but availability. Because the model is discontinued and the official listing was out of stock when checked, the most practical question is whether a verified, correctly specified unit can be bought on acceptable terms.
