The Breville Kitchen Wizz Peel & Dice BFP820BAL pairs a 3.6 L food processor with dedicated peeling and 12 mm dicing attachments, making it unusual among all-in-one processors. But Breville Australia now labels this model discontinued, so availability, price, spare parts and the condition of any used unit need checking before you buy. This review assesses the published specifications and available owner feedback; it is not based on hands-on testing.

What the BFP820BAL does—and what makes it different

The BFP820BAL is a food processor designed to handle everyday slicing, chopping, shredding and dough preparation, with two standout functions: peeling and dicing. Breville says its dicing attachment slices food before pushing it through a 12 mm grid. The peeler is intended for potatoes, beetroot, sweet potato and carrots. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independently verified performance results. Breville Australia’s product page lists the model as discontinued.

That combination may suit someone who regularly prepares diced vegetables or peels several potatoes at once. It is less compelling if those jobs are occasional: the machine is a substantial countertop appliance, and one owner reports that its weight and footprint are worth considering.

Specifications and included attachments

Breville lists a 2000 W direct-drive, high-torque motor and a 3.6 L bowl. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s specifications; they do not by themselves establish processing speed, noise, durability or superiority to another processor.

Breville claims the dicing grid can provide up to 10 cups of continuous dicing and that the peeler can peel up to seven potatoes at a time. Treat these as company claims, not guaranteed batch sizes or independently tested outcomes. The manufacturer also lists three chute options for different produce shapes. Confirm the exact kit contents for the particular unit being sold, especially if it is used or advertised with extra dicing accessories.

How well does it work?

There is not enough public independent test evidence to give the BFP820BAL a comparative performance verdict. CHOICE’s public listing identifies the exact model and provides specifications, but its substantive comparative test results are members-only; its public page does not establish a rating or recommendation. A listed price of AUD 849 appears on that page, but it is not a current market quote. CHOICE’s BFP820BAL listing is useful for identification, not as proof of a current price or a public test result.

One verified BFP820BAL owner describes using it for peeling, salads, French fries, zucchini pasta, meatballs, salmon patties, dips and shredding, and praises its power and versatility. The same report notes loudness, weight, counter space and cleanup as trade-offs. That is a single owner’s experience, not a representative sample or a substitute for testing. Broader comments on the BFP820 review page include cleaning complaints and confusion or disappointment about dicing-kit contents, but they may concern different variants or buying contexts.

Cleaning, size and day-to-day trade-offs

The broad accessory set adds flexibility but also means more parts to handle and clean. Available owner comments make cleanup a sensible issue to check, but they do not establish that every user or every attachment is difficult to clean. Follow the official BFP820 instruction book for assembly, operation, cleaning and safety rather than relying on assumptions about a particular disc or blade.

Buying a discontinued BFP820BAL

Breville Australia’s product page says, “This model has been discontinued.” That makes purchase conditions more important than a headline price: stock may be limited, used appliances may have missing attachments, and replacement-part availability can change. Breville’s Australia support hub provides routes to the manual, parts, warranty and repair, returns and support. It does not establish that a particular part or dicing kit is currently in stock, so confirm compatibility and availability directly before committing.

  1. Verify the model code. Check that the listing and appliance identify the exact BFP820BAL rather than a related BFP820 variant.
  2. Inventory the accessories. Ask for a clear list or photos of the peeler, dicing grid and pusher, blades, discs, bowl and lid. Confirm whether the 12 mm dicing kit is included and whether any advertised additional kit fits this exact model.
  3. Check condition and operation. For a used unit, ask about motor operation, bowl and lid condition, damaged or missing parts, and any repair history. No public evidence here establishes the condition of current resale units.
  4. Confirm parts and support. Use Breville’s support and parts route to check current stock and model-specific compatibility before purchase.
  5. Get warranty terms for your location and purchase date. CHOICE lists two years of product warranty plus 25 years on the motor, but warranty coverage and eligibility should be verified for your country, seller and date of purchase; do not assume that listing applies to a used or second-hand unit.

Because the model is discontinued, any current listing’s price and inventory are time-sensitive. The AUD 849 figure on CHOICE is a listing, not a verified current price.

Who should consider it?

  • A plausible fit: someone who will use peeling and 12 mm dicing often, wants conventional processing attachments as well, and has room for a large appliance.
  • Look elsewhere or compare carefully: someone who mainly needs basic chopping, is sensitive to countertop space or cleanup, or cannot confirm that the unit includes the accessories they need.

When comparing another processor, check bowl capacity, included versus optional peeling and dicing accessories, available dice sizes, accessory inventory, cleaning requirements, footprint, warranty terms in your country and current parts support. The public CHOICE information is not sufficient to rank this model against competitors.
