Breville says the Duo-Temp Pro has been discontinued, so the BES810BSS is now an availability-dependent choice rather than a routine new-retail purchase. It may suit someone looking for a manual espresso machine with a steam wand, but the available evidence here does not establish its shot quality, consistency, durability, or value. Check the exact model, voltage, condition, included accessories, and local parts support before buying.
Is the Breville Duo-Temp Pro still worth considering?
Breville’s US product page states, “This model has been discontinued.” That makes any remaining new stock or resale listing a purchase to evaluate individually: price, seller condition, warranty, and parts availability may vary. No seller listing was evaluated, and current availability or pricing is not established.
The machine’s features describe its intended workflow, not proof of espresso results. No independent comparative test or hands-on performance evaluation is available here, so claims about extraction consistency, cup quality, warm-up time, durability, or value would be unsupported.
How the espresso and milk workflow works
Choose the basket for the coffee
The BES810 uses a 54 mm portafilter. Its manual identifies single-wall baskets for freshly ground coffee and dual-wall baskets for pre-ground coffee. The single-wall option therefore makes a suitable grinder and fresh beans relevant to the setup; the dual-wall baskets offer an option for pre-ground coffee. These are basket-use descriptions, not a guarantee of a particular result.

Set shot volume manually
Breville describes shot-volume control as manual. If you are unsure how to adjust the shot size, follow the procedure in the BES810 instruction manual; do not assume the machine automatically selects a preferred volume.
Steam milk and manage the heat system
The manual describes a swivel steam wand and steam/hot-water selection. Breville says the wand is designed for microfoam and that the machine automatically purges the heat system after steaming. Those are manufacturer descriptions; they are not independent measurements of milk texture or temperature behavior.

Breville also describes low-pressure pre-infusion as a way to help draw flavors evenly. The feature description alone does not establish how evenly or consistently the BES810 extracts in practice.

Regional electrical specifications and model suffixes differ: Breville’s Canada page, for example, confirms that the regional listing is not interchangeable with the US specification. Before buying, match the unit’s model label and voltage to the electrical supply where it will be used. Do not assume a US warranty or electrical rating applies to another regional version.

The manual also describes maintenance and drip-tray alerts. Breville presents these as reminders for upkeep, not as a substitute for checking the machine’s condition or following its cleaning instructions.
Used or remaining-stock buying checklist
- Verify the exact model and voltage. Compare the product label with your region’s power supply and the relevant Breville regional page.
- Inspect condition and seller terms. Establish whether the unit is new old stock, open box, or used, and confirm return terms and any applicable warranty.
