What is the new gold Navitimer?
This is the Navitimer Automatic 36, reference D173271A1A1D1—not one of Breitling’s larger Navitimer B01 chronographs. It is a self-winding watch focused on timekeeping rather than chronograph functions. Breitling lists stainless steel and 18K yellow gold for both the case and bracelet.
The model’s 36 mm diameter is paired with an 11.42 mm-thick case and an 18 mm lug width. The 50 m water-resistance rating is a specification, not a reason to treat the watch as a dedicated diving instrument. The approximately 38-hour reserve is the manufacturer-listed figure; as with any automatic watch, actual running time depends on its state of wind and use.
Is it really a winter watch?
The seasonal description is an aesthetic judgment, not a technical category. T3’s Bethan Morgan framed the launch as a festive-season watch, pointing to the contrast of warm gold, steel, white accents, and mother-of-pearl. That palette can suit winter or holiday outfits, but the watch is not limited to a season; whether it feels right depends on your wardrobe and preference for two-tone jewelry-style watches.

T3 also reported a brown alligator-leather strap option alongside the two-tone bracelet. Availability may vary by region and over time, so confirm with Breitling or an authorized local seller before relying on that configuration.
How it differs from other recent Navitimers
The key distinction is size and function: this is a 36 mm automatic with no chronograph described in its official specifications. It should not be confused with the larger B01 chronographs. Nor is it the green-dial Navitimer 18K Gold Edition covered in a separate September 2026 T3 story; those were reported as Watches of Switzerland exclusives, while this reference is the mother-of-pearl Automatic 36.
