Start Breece Hall over Braelon Allen when Hall is healthy. Through the first three games of 2026, Hall had 51 carries and 10 catches; Allen had 19 carries and four catches. Hall’s larger workload and stronger receiving production give him the better baseline, especially in PPR and half-PPR leagues. Allen becomes a more compelling option if Hall is ruled out, but the available reporting also identifies Isaiah Davis as a possible part of the backfield rotation.
Those statistics and injury updates are a snapshot through October 4, 2026—not a current-week injury determination. Check the latest Jets injury report and backfield news before setting a lineup.
How do Hall and Allen compare through three games?
The Jets’ official statistics show Hall leading Allen in both rushing and receiving production through the first three games of 2026:
| Player | Carries | Rushing yards | Rushing TDs | Receptions | Receiving yards |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Breece Hall | 51 | 163 | 1 | 10 | 102 |
| Braelon Allen | 19 | 61 | 1 | 4 | 11 |
These totals are from the New York Jets’ 2026 season statistics as listed through the first three games: Hall’s official player page and Allen’s official player page. Hall’s 10 catches for 102 yards provide a more substantial reception-based scoring floor than Allen’s four catches for 11 yards in this sample.
#1 Best Overall
Hall led each shared game
Hall’s carries by week were 22 against Tennessee, 16 against Green Bay and 13 against Detroit. Allen had 10, five and four carries in those games, respectively. Allen’s catches rose from zero in Week 1 to one in Week 2 and three in Week 3, but Hall still led the three-game receiving total.
What is each player’s fantasy role?
Hall is the preferred play when active
Hall had the clearer lead-back workload in the games they shared, with advantages in both carries and catches. That makes him the better choice when both are available, with his reception total especially valuable in PPR and half-PPR scoring. The early 2026 sample is only three games, so it supports a relative comparison—not a guarantee of future workload or production.
Rank #2
His recent full-season workload offers context: the Jets list Hall with 243 carries for 1,065 yards and four rushing touchdowns, plus 36 receptions for 350 yards in 2025. Those are 2025 results, not a projection for 2026.

Allen had a limited role behind Hall in the first three games, making him more useful as a bench stash or handcuff than as a preferred start while Hall is healthy. His fantasy case improves if Hall cannot play, but there is not enough evidence in the cited reports to treat Allen as the automatic recipient of all Hall’s work.
Rank #3
What does Hall’s thigh injury mean for Allen?
Hall left the Week 3 loss at Detroit with a thigh injury. A September 28 report described him as week-to-week and named Allen and Isaiah Davis as backs who could cover if Hall missed time. A September 30 fantasy update treated Hall as out for Week 4 and anticipated a starting opportunity for Allen, while also cautioning that Davis could share touches. These were dated updates, not a determination of Hall’s availability for a later week.
If Hall is ruled out, Allen’s expected opportunity rises, but the possible committee with Davis makes his workload uncertain. Before starting Allen, check the latest official Jets injury report and fresh reporting on Davis’s role. Do not assume that Hall’s carries, catches or scoring chances transfer to Allen in full.
Rank #4
How should scoring format and role uncertainty affect the choice?
- When both are active: Prefer Hall, whose early-season edge covers both carries and receptions.
- In PPR or half-PPR: Hall’s 10 catches in the three-game sample strengthen his case over Allen’s four.
- If Hall is out: Allen is the more interesting option, but account for the possibility that Davis shares work.
- For goal-line expectations: The cited material does not establish a complete 2026 goal-line or red-zone split, so it cannot support a confident claim that Allen has a stable scoring role.
A September 30 fantasy analyst described Allen as a potential low-end RB2 for the Week 4 matchup with Hall out. That was a dated, matchup-specific projection—not a lasting season-long ranking. Evaluate any current-week ranking against the latest injury and usage news.
