The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) have been reported at $249 in U.S. promotions, but that is not a verified all-time low: 9to5Toys reported the black version at $199.99 on Amazon in November 2025. The $249 offer is historical, not confirmed live on October 4, 2026, so check the current price, finish, stock, and seller before buying.
Is $249 really the all-time low?
No—not across every reported U.S. promotion and finish. HotHardware called a $249 Amazon offer an all-time low in its December 15, 2025 report, and Gizmodo described another $249 Amazon offer that way in September 2026. But 9to5Toys reported the black version for $199.99 on Amazon on November 15, 2025, calling it a new all-time low; that promotion is marked expired. So $249 was a deal price, but it is not the lowest U.S. price in the history documented by these reports.
Those reports concern specific dates and offers, not a live price guarantee. Bose’s U.S. product page showed $249 with a $50-off offer deadline of September 13, 2026, which has passed. Confirm the retailer’s current listing and checkout price before treating any discount as available.

What you get with the 2nd-generation earbuds
These are true-wireless in-ear earbuds, not Bose’s over-ear QuietComfort Ultra headphones. Bose lists active noise cancellation, Bluetooth multipoint, Immersive Audio spatial processing, SpeechClarity voice pickup, and a wireless charging case among the features. The case is included, so the cited product listing does not require a separate case purchase for wireless charging.
#1 Best Overall
- WORLD-CLASS NOISE CANCELLATION: The best noise cancellation of any Bose wireless earbuds is now even better than before. ActiveSense technology smooths spikes in surrounding sound, so even in Aware Mode distractions won’t get in the way.
- CUSTOMTUNE TECHNOLOGY: CustomTune technology analyses your ears and adapts your in-ear headphones to their shape. The result? World-class noise cancellation and custom sound for bigger chills every time you press play.
- NOISE CONTROL: Quickly adjust the level of noise cancellation without using Modes, including turning it off completely to conserve battery.
- IMMERSIVE AUDIO: Bose Immersive Audio spatialises what you’re hearing by taking it out of your head and placing it beyond your Bluetooth earbuds. It’s like listening from the acoustic sweet spot, where songs sound like the artist intended.
- SECURE FIT AND STABILITY: Choose from nine combos of eartips and stability bands to find the snuggest fit for comfortable earbuds. The soft, umbrella-shaped tips seal the opening of your ear to reduce outside noises while stability bands hug them.
Bose’s product page describes them as “Our quietest in-ear noise cancelling.” That is Bose’s marketing claim, not an independent comparative test finding.
How to interpret Bose’s battery-life figures
Bose claims up to six hours of playback per charge, or up to four hours with Immersive Audio enabled. Bose says the case provides up to three full additional charges. These are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.

Bose’s footnote says the tests were conducted in February 2025 using production-representative earbuds and case. For the six-hour figure, Bose used Bluetooth A2DP streaming at 75 dB, EQ at zero, Quiet mode, and Immersive Audio off. The four-hour result used Immersive Audio on. Bose cautions that battery life varies with settings and use. Bose’s product page has the manufacturer’s current product information.
Should you buy at $249?
That depends on the offer you can actually obtain and how much you value Bose’s listed features. The documented $199.99 U.S. Amazon price for black is a lower historical reference; it does not promise that price will return, or that another finish will match it. At $249, compare the live price and terms with your own willingness to pay rather than relying on an unqualified “all-time low” label.

- Verify the seller, finish, stock, and final checkout price; the reports describe offers tied to specific retailers and colors.
- For UK offers, check the stated retailer and color condition; the John Lewis report specified Midnight Violet, while the separate Amazon UK report specified black.
