Choose the Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) if you want a lighter, comfort-focused pair for commuting and travel. Choose the Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC if adjustable, tactile bass is the feature you care about most and you are comfortable with a much heavier headset. For most listeners, the Bose is the safer all-round choice; the Skullcandy makes more sense for bass enthusiasts.
Which gives you the better listening experience?
They are built around different priorities, so the better choice depends less on a single overall sound ranking than on what you want from headphones. Bose emphasizes noise cancellation, comfort and spatial-audio features. Skullcandy’s standout feature is its adjustable Crusher Bass, controlled with a physical wheel for bass you can feel as well as hear.
In its 2 October 2026 head-to-head, Stuff named Bose the overall winner while noting that bass-focused buyers may prefer Skullcandy. That is a publication’s comparative judgment, not a universal result: listeners who want a distinctive bass effect may reasonably value the Skullcandy’s signature feature more than Bose’s broader travel-friendly strengths.

Why choose Bose for comfort, commuting and travel?
It is substantially lighter
Tom’s Guide and Stuff report the Bose at 230g, compared with Skullcandy’s listed 374.2g. That difference makes Bose the more sensible starting point if you are sensitive to headphone weight or expect to wear them for long stretches. Weight alone cannot predict fit: headband pressure, earcup shape and personal preference matter too.
Its features suit a travel-focused use case
Bose’s product information highlights QuietControl noise cancellation, TrueSpatial, app customization and plush comfort. Tom’s Guide’s hands-on review praised its comfort and ANC, and reports physical buttons, a foldable case and USB-C audio input supporting lossless audio up to 24-bit/48kHz. The review also reports Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint, and included 3.5mm-to-USB-C and USB-C-to-USB-C cables.

Bose claims up to 24 hours of battery life, or 18 hours when Immersive Audio is enabled. Tom’s Guide notes that the headphones lack wear detection and an IP weather-resistance rating, so they are not the obvious pick if automatic playback pausing or a stated weather-protection rating is essential to you.

Why choose Skullcandy for adjustable bass?
The Crusher wheel is the reason to buy it
The Crusher 1080 ANC’s dedicated control lets you adjust the intensity of its signature bass effect. If you want a more tactile, bass-forward experience rather than a conventional all-purpose travel headphone, this is its clearest advantage over Bose. Skullcandy also lists app EQ, wear detection and a low-latency mode.

Expect more weight, but longer claimed battery life
Skullcandy lists the headset at 374.2g, making it considerably heavier than the Bose. Its manufacturer claims up to 60 hours with ANC off and up to 50 hours with ANC on. Those figures are manufacturer claims, not a directly comparable test against Bose, whose stated maximum is up to 24 hours (18 with Immersive Audio).
Skullcandy lists Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint and LE Audio with Auracast. Its stated box contents include an AUX cable, USB-C-to-USB-C cable, roll-top bag and user guide.

A separate US snapshot on Skullcandy’s official page on 3 October showed a $199.99 sale price, reduced from a displayed $279.99, but the sale item was marked out of stock. These figures do not establish what either headset will cost or whether it will be available when you shop; check the listing for your region before buying.
