The Bosch PUJ611BB5H is a 60 cm frameless induction cooktop from Bosch’s Series 4 range, with three cooking zones, 17 power levels and a PowerBoost setting. Whether it suits your kitchen depends less on its features than on three checks: whether your cutout matches Bosch’s listed niche size, whether your electrical supply can handle a 4.6 kW connected load, and whether three zones of 145 mm, 210 mm and 280 mm fit the pans you actually use.
What the Bosch PUJ611BB5H is
Bosch’s New Zealand specification sheet describes this model as “Series 4, Induction cooktop, 60 cm, surface mount without frame.” In practical terms, it is a built-in hob that sits flush on the worktop with no stainless steel or metal surround, and it is designed for a standard 60 cm wide opening. The published sheets for New Zealand and Australia agree on the main configuration and dimensions. The sheets reviewed for this article do not show a publication date, so confirm the figures against the documentation supplied with the unit you buy.
Cooking zones and output
The hob has three induction zones arranged in a 2 + 1 layout: two at the rear and one at the front right. Bosch lists the following outputs for each zone.
| Zone position | Zone diameter | Standard output | PowerBoost maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rear left | 280 mm | 2.6 kW | 3.7 kW |
| Rear right | 145 mm | 1.4 kW | 2.2 kW |
| Front right | 210 mm | 2.2 kW | 3.7 kW |
The rear-left zone is the largest, so it is the one to reserve for a large stockpot or a wide frying pan. The 145 mm rear-right zone suits a small saucepan, a milk pan or a coffee pot. Bosch’s figures are rated outputs from the specification sheets, not measured heat-up times, so they show what each zone can deliver rather than how fast a particular pan will reach a boil.

Power levels, PowerBoost and timers
Bosch lists 17 power settings in total, made up of 9 main levels and 8 intermediate levels. The listed timed functions are:
- Switch-off timer: turns a zone off automatically after a set time.
- Countdown timer: alerts you when a set cooking time ends, without necessarily switching the zone off.
- PowerBoost: Bosch says it provides up to 50% more power than the highest standard level. This is a manufacturer claim; the sheets do not report a test result for how quickly it brings water to the boil.
- QuickStart: the hob detects cookware when switched on, so a zone starts only when a suitable pan is placed on it.
- ReStart: if the hob is switched on again within four seconds of an unintended switch-off, the previous settings are restored.
Dimensions and cutout requirements
Dimensions are the first thing to check before ordering, because a hob that is even slightly too large for its opening cannot be fitted correctly. Bosch lists the following figures.

| Item | Bosch-listed dimension |
|---|---|
| Product size (W × D × H) | 592 × 522 × 51 mm |
| Required niche size (W × D × H) | 560 × 490–500 × 51 mm |
| Minimum worktop thickness | 16 mm |
The 560 mm niche width is the key figure for a standard 60 cm base unit. The listed depth range of 490–500 mm means that a cabinet shallower than about 490 mm will not accept the hob. The 592 mm product width is wider than the niche, which is normal for a frameless hob, because the outer edge overlaps the worktop around the cutout. Check the surround clearances stated in the installation instructions for your variant, as they are not reproduced in the summary sheets.
Electrical connection and installation
Connected load
Bosch lists a connected load of 4.6 kW. This is the maximum power the hob can draw, and it determines whether your circuit and the cable run need upgrading. Confirm that your circuit rating and wiring are suitable before buying, not after delivery.
Rank #3
- 2 Burner Induction Cooktop With Independent Control: Two cooking zones heat at the same time, each with its own touch controls — boil on one burner while you simmer on the other. A powerful 1800W total output delivers fast, even heating.

- 9 Power Levels Plus Boost, Timer And Keep Warm: Choose from 9 precise heat levels plus a one-touch Power Boost for rapid high heat. Set the timer, keep dishes warm, or press Pause. Touch controls and a digital display keep every setting clear.
- Smooth Glass Surface, Easy To Clean: The smooth glass cooktop wipes clean with a damp cloth — no exposed burners or coils for food to get stuck in.
Power cord and connection type
The listed power cord is 1.1 m long and is specified as directly connected. This means the unit is wired into the supply rather than fitted with a plug, so you should not plan on a standard plug-and-socket installation.
PowerManagement
Bosch says PowerManagement can limit the total load drawn by the cooktop. This can help when the hob shares a circuit with other high-demand appliances, but the sheets do not state how much the limit reduces performance in practice.

Model suffix and support
Bosch’s US support pages list the model as PUJ611BB5H/51 and PUJ611BB5H/01. The suffix tells you which regional variant you have, and it determines which manual, specification and replacement-part listings apply. Find the suffix on the rating plate or packaging, then use the Bosch site for your country, because the suffix is what matches a listing to a specific unit.
What the published specifications do not tell you
- No independent cooking-speed, boost-time or energy tests for this model were found in the manufacturer material reviewed for this article.
- No noise measurements, reliability data or long-term owner feedback are established by the sources.
- Current local price, stock, warranty terms and retailer availability vary by country and date and should be checked directly with a retailer or Bosch.
- This article is based on Bosch’s published specifications. It is not based on hands-on use of this unit, and it does not compare the PUJ611BB5H with competing models.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Zone fit: Confirm that the 280 mm, 210 mm and 145 mm zones suit your largest and smallest cookware.
- Boost needs: Decide whether the 3.7 kW maximum on two zones and 2.2 kW on the small zone matter for how you cook.
- Cutout: Measure the opening to confirm a width of 560 mm, a depth of 490–500 mm and a worktop of at least 16 mm.
- Electrical supply: Confirm with a licensed electrician that your circuit can support 4.6 kW and that a direct connection is possible at the planned location.
- Load sharing: If other high-power appliances share the circuit, ask the electrician whether PowerManagement settings are needed.
- Model suffix: Match the suffix on the appliance to the manual and the retailer listing before ordering.
The Bottom Line
The Bosch PUJ611BB5H is a straightforward 60 cm frameless induction hob with a clear, listed configuration: three zones, 17 power levels, PowerBoost and a 4.6 kW connected load. Buy it if your cutout measures 560 mm wide and 490–500 mm deep, your worktop is at least 16 mm thick, and an electrician confirms the supply can handle the load. If any of those checks fail, the hob will not fit or run safely as specified, so look for a different model rather than adapting the installation.
