To borrow an eligible book with Amazon Prime, open the Prime Reading catalog, choose a title marked as included, and select Add to Library. Amazon’s UK help page says Prime members can borrow up to 10 eligible titles at a time; return one before borrowing another when you reach the limit.
How to borrow a Prime Reading book

Sign in to the Amazon account with your Prime membership.

Open the Prime Reading catalog for your Amazon marketplace. Search or browse for a title identified as available through Prime Reading; the selection rotates, so check the catalog for current availability.

Open the book’s product page and select Add to Library. This is the borrowing action described in Amazon Customer Service’s Prime Reading help page.

Open the title in the Kindle app or on a compatible Kindle or Fire device. A dedicated Kindle e-reader is not required: Amazon says the free Kindle app supports reading on compatible phones, tablets, and computers. See Amazon’s overview of Prime reading benefits.
The UK help page states a limit of 10 eligible Prime Reading titles at once. Catalog availability and wording may differ by marketplace, so use the local Amazon catalog if you do not see the same options.

How to return a Prime Reading book
From your Amazon account

Open Manage Your Content and Devices.

Go to Your Content and filter the list by Prime Reading.

Select the title, choose Return this title, and confirm.

From the Kindle app
Select and hold the book cover, open its menu, then choose Return. Amazon’s instructions are on its Kindle app return-help page. Returning removes the borrowed title from your library; if you want to keep a copy, Amazon says you can purchase it.

If you are looking for a specific book, check whether it is currently in Prime Reading rather than assuming that every Kindle title is included with Prime. First Reads is an alternative benefit, not the Prime Reading loan catalog.
