The right Bluevine alternative depends on how your business moves money: compare payment methods and transaction fees first, then weigh account yield, deposit-protection arrangements, and software integrations. Mercury, Relay, Novo, and Found each publish business-account features and terms worth considering, but none is a universal fit.

How to choose a Bluevine alternative

Start with your regular transactions, not a “no monthly fee” headline. List how you receive customer payments, pay vendors and employees, move money between accounts, and handle checks or cash. Then compare the exact costs and workflows each provider supports.

  • Payments: Check whether you need standard or same-day ACH, domestic or international wires, checks, payment links, invoicing, or in-person acceptance.
  • Costs: Look beyond the subscription fee to per-transaction charges, paid tiers, optional express transfers, and currency-conversion fees.
  • Cash and access: If your business handles physical cash or needs branch services, verify those capabilities directly. The provider information here does not establish cash-deposit support consistently across all five options.
  • Yield and protection: Treat advertised APY and deposit-insurance limits as provider-reported, conditional terms—not guaranteed returns or a substitute for checking how coverage applies to your balances.
  • Workflows: Consider accounting synchronization, software integrations, and cash-management tools you already use.

Mercury Basic business banking advertises no monthly fee, minimum balance, or fees for ACH, domestic wires, and checks. Relay Starter has no subscription fee; Grow is $30 monthly and Scale is $120 monthly under a fee schedule effective September 1, 2026. Same-day ACH and wire costs differ by tier. Which provider fits your payment pattern?

Bluevine: multiple ways to collect and send payments

Bluevine’s account materials list ACH, domestic and international wires, checks, invoicing, payment links, and Tap to Pay. That breadth may be useful if you want several payment and collection methods in one platform. Bluevine says ACH and wire services are provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC; Bluevine is not the bank providing those services. Its advertised 1.3% APY applies to eligible Standard customers, and its stated coverage of up to $3 million is through partner banks. Both are provider claims subject to account terms.

Do not assume every payment is free because the Standard account has no monthly fee. Bluevine publishes charges for certain transaction types, while Plus and Premier plans discount some payment fees. Check the current fee schedule and plan conditions for the transactions your business actually makes.

Mercury: electronic payments and accounting synchronization

Mercury lists ACH, domestic and USD international wires, real-time payments, and checks. Its business banking page says USD international wires are free, while transfers in local currencies carry a 1% currency exchange fee. If you pay overseas recipients, distinguish a USD wire from a local-currency transfer when estimating costs.

Mercury describes banking services through partner banks rather than presenting itself as a bank. Its advertised FDIC coverage of up to $5 million depends on partner-bank sweep networks and applicable terms; it is not a blanket limit that should be assumed for every account or balance.

Relay: compare transaction costs against the tier price

Relay’s Starter, Grow, and Scale plans pair monthly subscription costs with tier-specific fees for same-day ACH and wires. The fee schedule effective September 1, 2026 lists Grow at $30 per month and Scale at $120 per month, with no Starter subscription fee. Because transaction costs vary by tier, a paid plan’s value depends on the payments you make and the fees it offsets. Use Relay’s current fee schedule to calculate the total for your expected monthly activity.

Check the details before switching

  1. Write down a typical month of activity. Count standard and same-day ACH transfers, domestic and international wires, checks, currency conversions, and customer collections.
  2. Price that activity against each plan. Include subscription charges, transaction fees, optional express services, and currency conversion. Use the provider’s current fee schedule rather than relying on a headline claim.
  3. Verify how deposits are held and protected. Read the account disclosures for the bank or banks providing services, any sweep arrangement, eligibility conditions, and how your balances are allocated.
  4. Check operational fit. Confirm whether the provider supports your cash needs and required integrations, then verify account limits and availability for your business.
  5. Recheck volatile terms before applying. Rates, fees, plan details, and partner-bank arrangements may change; rely on the provider’s current official terms.
