Bloodborne has appeared in early RTX Remix path-tracing footage, but there is no public mod release or announced project. The creator says the experiment still has major issues and that a releasable version, if one ever comes, would take a long time.
What the Bloodborne path-tracing footage shows
In a report published October 8, 2026, Wccftech attributes the explanation of the experiment to YouTuber gabdeg. The creator describes an early proof of concept that converts static geometry into RTX Remix’s native format and streams dynamic geometry from Bloodborne as the game runs in shadPS4. That is a technical demonstration, not evidence of a finished, publicly playable mod. Wccftech’s report and footage are the source for the explanation.

The outlet describes the path-traced lighting as transformative in some scenes, while also noting rough results, particularly in sections of Central Yharnam. “Transformative” is a visual assessment of the footage, not a measured result or a guarantee that a finished version would look consistent throughout the game.

No release or project announcement is established in the report. Gabdeg cautions: “This is not a project announcement, and if it ever turns into something releasable, it wouldn’t be out for a long time as there are still many issues that would need fixing.” The footage therefore should not be treated as a download, a near-term launch announcement, or confirmation that development will continue.

- Bloodborne Game of The Year
- If Bloodborne needs to be summed up, then the prevalent themes would be: exploring the fearsome unknown, intense life-and-death battles, and a familiar yet uniquely new online experience
- From the makers of the infamous Souls series, From Software's PS4 exclusive will attempt to take the tried and tested formula of giving players a sense of achievement to the next stage - especially when Miyazaki, the original creator of the Souls series is back at the helm

- If you have played the previous Souls games, then this one is a definite must buy
The available report gives no verified release date, public build, named GPU requirement, performance benchmark, or completion commitment. It does not establish that the experiment will never be released, either.
How to interpret the visual changes
Path tracing can change how lighting and reflections appear, but a more realistic lighting treatment is not automatically a better fit for Bloodborne. The original game’s dark compositions and mood are part of its visual identity; whether the footage preserves that atmosphere is a matter of taste. Comments on the Reddit discussion reflect differing individual reactions, not a representative poll.

- Bloodborne - Game Of The Year Edition [PS4]
A fair assessment of a finished version would need more than selected footage: it would need to show whether lighting remains consistent across areas, whether the original mood is retained, and how stable and performant the implementation is. The inspected coverage does not provide those tests.
What shadPS4 and other Bloodborne PC projects mean
The experiment is presented in the context of playing Bloodborne through shadPS4, a PlayStation 4 emulator. That context does not make the game an official PC release, nor does it establish that the RTX Remix experiment is ready for general use.

- bbport: Its repository documentation describes an experimental native Linux runtime for the PlayStation 4 game executable, game ID CUSA03173, version 1.09. It requires the user’s own decrypted game dump, includes no game files, and says a full play-through has not been verified. The author reports thorough testing on one Linux machine with an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT; that is a test detail for bbport, not a GPU requirement or benchmark for the RTX Remix experiment.
- BB Reborne DIY: Its repository documentation describes a separate Windows visual-overhaul generator. It requires a legally obtained v1.09 dump, shadPS4 v0.15.1 or newer, at least 100 GB of free disk space, and a modern GPU capable of running AI upscaling tools. These are requirements for BB Reborne DIY only.
