If you want an Android phone with a physical QWERTY keyboard, choose the original Unihertz Titan. The BlackBerry Passport is not an Android phone: it runs BlackBerry 10. It may suit you if you specifically want the Passport’s keyboard and BlackBerry 10 experience, but it is a different platform with different app considerations.
First, the key difference: Android or BlackBerry 10?
The original Unihertz Titan is the Android option. Unihertz identifies it as an Android 10 smartphone on its product page. The BlackBerry Passport is a BlackBerry 10 device; its user guide describes BlackBerry workflows, including sharing content from an Android app. That reference does not mean the Passport runs Android.

Choose based on the platform you need, not just the presence of physical keys. If you depend on Android apps, the Titan is the match between these two, though Android 10 and app availability should be checked against your requirements. If you want BlackBerry 10 specifically, consider the Passport with the understanding that its app experience is not Android’s.

BlackBerry Passport
The Passport guide describes a three-row physical keyboard. One CrackBerry forum contributor preferred the Passport’s keyboard feel to the Titan’s, but that is a single owner’s opinion, not a controlled or representative typing comparison. Try the specific device if keyboard feel is decisive.

Original Unihertz Titan
Unihertz describes the original Titan as a QWERTY smartphone. The available evidence does not establish an objective winner for typing speed, comfort, or accuracy, so treat those as personal-fit questions rather than settled specifications.
What should you verify before buying?
Neither platform label nor keyboard alone settles whether a particular used or new unit is a sensible purchase. Current regional availability, prices, seller reliability, carrier compatibility, and support for the apps and security needs you care about are not established here. Check them for the exact model and unit in your country before paying.
- Apps and security: Confirm that the apps and services you need work on the device’s operating system and software version. Do not assume the Passport has current Android compatibility.
- Network: Ask the carrier whether the exact model supports its network and services in your region. No universal compatibility claim applies without a country, carrier, and model details.
- Condition and support: For a used Passport or Titan, check battery condition, keyboard operation, screen, charging, software state, and the seller’s return terms. Verify what support remains for your intended use.
- Price and stock: Compare local listings and confirm that the listing is for the original Titan, not the Titan Pocket or Titan 2. Those are separate models.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the original Unihertz Titan if your priority is an Android phone built around a physical QWERTY keyboard, and its Android 10 software, availability, carrier support, and condition meet your needs.
- Choose the BlackBerry Passport if you specifically want its BlackBerry 10 experience and physical keyboard, and are willing to check app, network, and device-condition limitations yourself.
Online requests for “real typing reviews” sometimes compare the Passport with Titan 2, but Titan 2 is not the original Titan discussed here. Do not use impressions about one Titan model as proof of how another types.
