Bitcoin slipped to about $85,600 during Tuesday’s Asian morning after sellers turned it back from just above $87,000 on Monday, Oct. 5. That was the third time since Sept. 23 that the price had met resistance around $87,000. The repeated rejections mark a closely watched resistance area—not a permanent ceiling—and the cited reports describe a market snapshot, not a settled longer-term trend.
What happened to Bitcoin near $87,000?
CoinDesk reported that Bitcoin fell 1.2% to about $85,600 in Tuesday Asian morning trading, following Monday’s retreat from just above $87,000. The report counted three failed pushes through that area since Sept. 23. CoinDesk’s Oct. 6 market report describes the level as a repeatedly tested hurdle during that period.
“Rejection” here means the price rose into or above the area but did not hold there and subsequently fell back. It does not prove that Bitcoin cannot rise past $87,000; it identifies an area where selling has recently outweighed buying. Because the figures refer to Tuesday Asian morning pricing and Monday’s U.S. session, they should not be read as a live quote.
Why are stocks near records relevant?
The headline juxtaposes Bitcoin’s pullback with stocks trading near record levels. That contrast can draw attention to whether investors are treating crypto and equities differently, but the snapshot alone does not establish why Bitcoin retreated or prove a direct relationship between the two markets. The reports supplied here do not give specific stock-index levels or a causal explanation, so a stronger claim about the reason for the divergence would go beyond the evidence.

Three unsuccessful attempts since Sept. 23 make the area around $87,000 a notable near-term reference point for traders. The account supports calling it resistance over that window; it does not establish that it will remain resistance, identify a price target, or predict what Bitcoin will do next.

The reported move covers Monday, Oct. 5, U.S. trading and Tuesday, Oct. 6, Asian morning crypto pricing. Bitcoin trades continuously, so its price can change materially after such a report. Check a current market quote before making a decision based on the reported $85,600 level.
