Bitcoin miner revenue has recovered sharply from its July low. TokenPost reported on October 8, 2026 that daily miner revenue reached about $48 million, up from a July low of $27 million, a reported increase of 78%. That recovery came alongside a higher Bitcoin price and more network computing power. It does not, on its own, show that every miner is profitable or that the industry has returned to normal conditions.

What the 78% figure actually compares

The headline is a point-to-low comparison. It sets the reported daily revenue figure of about $48 million against the lowest daily figure recorded in July, which was about $27 million. It is not an average growth rate, and it does not mean revenue climbed 78% every day. Readers should also note that this is a gross revenue measure. It is the total value miners earned from block rewards and transaction fees in a day, before electricity, equipment, cooling, staffing and financing costs are deducted.

Because the comparison runs from a single low point, the percentage will look different depending on the start date chosen. A figure measured from a different day in July, or from the period’s average, would produce a smaller number.

Bitcoin’s price and network hashrate moved too

Revenue for a Bitcoin miner depends on two outside variables: the market price of bitcoin and how much computing power is competing for the same block rewards. TokenPost described both moving in the same period:

  • Bitcoin price: roughly $58,000 in July, rising to above $83,000 at the time of the report.
  • Network hashrate: 899 EH/s on July 31, rising to 962 EH/s at the time of the report.

A higher price raises the value of every coin a miner earns, while more hashrate on the network normally spreads the same rewards across more machines. Because both changed, the revenue recovery cannot be credited to price alone or to hashrate alone. The reporting does not break the increase down into those separate effects, so the split between them is not established.

What the wallet data suggests about selling pressure

Miners sell bitcoin to pay bills, so a common sign of stress is coins moving out of miner-controlled wallets. A 2026 update attributed to CryptoQuant, as reported by Bitcoin Insider, described miners as better rewarded and said that extreme outflows had not returned after August 21. It also reported that balances in large miner wallets had stabilized near 51,000 BTC. The large-wallet category in that analysis covers wallets holding between 100 and 1,000 BTC.

The same update reported September transfers of roughly 600 BTC by wallets it classed as Satoshi-era miners. These are category-level metrics from a secondary report. They are not a complete census of the mining sector, and they cannot show what any individual operator is doing with its coins.

Taken together, the indicators point to easing pressure rather than a finished recovery. They do not establish that every miner has stopped selling, and they do not establish that miners are accumulating.

Revenue is not profit

Daily revenue is one of several measures that industry observers use, and it is the easiest to misread. Two measures are more useful for judging whether mining is paying.

Hashprice

Hashprice expresses expected daily revenue per unit of computing power, usually per petahash per second per day (PH/s/day). CoinShares reported an average hashprice of $27.7 per PH/s/day for June 2026. That figure is a June average and does not describe conditions in October. Hashprice is useful for comparing periods because it adjusts for how much hashrate the network has, but it is still gross revenue. It says nothing about the cost of running the machines.

Operator costs and financial results

Profit depends on what each operator pays to run its equipment. Company filings show how much those outcomes differ. BitFuFu’s filing describes how bitcoin price, network difficulty and the share of hashrate a company has allocated to its own operations all affect its mining revenue. Riot reports its own hashprice and cost-to-mine metrics, which reflect its specific power costs, equipment and operating structure. A miner with cheap power and efficient machines can remain profitable at a hashprice that squeezes a higher-cost operator. Neither filing, as cited here, measures the whole industry.

How to read miner news without overreading it

When a headline reports a recovery in miner economics, check the following before drawing conclusions:

  • ✅Premium Aluminum Construction: Constructed from high-quality aluminum for enhanced durability and heat dissipation, ensuring longevity and optimal performance.
  • ✅ Accommodates 8 GPUs: Designed to house up to 8 graphics cards, providing ample space for expanding your mining setup and maximizing efficiency.
  • ✅ Superior Airflow and Cooling: Engineered with optimized airflow design to prevent overheating and maintain optimal operating temperatures for prolonged mining sessions.

  • ✅ Sleek and Space-Saving Design: Compact and minimalist design saves space while adding a professional touch to your mining rig setup.
  • Is the figure revenue or profit? Revenue is gross. Profit needs power, hardware, cooling and financing costs.
  • What is the baseline? A percentage from a single low point depends on the date selected.
  • What dates apply? Bitcoin prices and hashrate change daily, so every figure needs a date.
  • Is the data a sector total or a company result? Wallet-category data and individual financial filings answer different questions.
  • Is the source primary? Figures relayed through secondary reports should be traced back to the original analysis or filing where possible.

Are Bitcoin miners profitable again?

The reporting supports a narrower conclusion than the headline suggests. Daily miner revenue rose sharply from a July low, Bitcoin’s price and network hashrate both rose during the same period, and wallet-level indicators reported by CryptoQuant showed less pressure to sell. Those are real improvements in the conditions miners face.

What the reporting does not establish is that margins have recovered across the industry. Revenue has not been reported net of costs for the sector, the underlying CryptoQuant chart and daily dataset were not available to check the 78% calculation directly, and an individual miner’s result depends on its own power price and equipment. A recovery in gross revenue is the start of a profit recovery, not proof of one.

Readers who want to track the question should watch hashprice over several weeks, compare it with the operator-level cost data in each company’s periodic filings, and treat single-day revenue comparisons as snapshots rather than trends.
