BetRivers is a mobile sportsbook operated by Rush Street Interactive; in some states, its app also offers online casino games. The version available to you, its payment methods, and the rules for registering and wagering depend on your state. Before creating an account, check the state-specific BetRivers site and confirm that you meet the local age requirement and are physically inside a permitted area when you place a bet.
What the BetRivers app does
BetRivers offers sportsbook features through free Android and iOS apps, according to its state pages. Some state versions add online casino play; others describe sportsbook features only. For example, the reviewed Michigan page covers sportsbook and casino, while the New York and Colorado pages describe sportsbook. See the Michigan, New York, and Colorado pages for their respective state offerings.
Depending on the state, features may include pre-game and live in-game odds, live betting, sports streams, promotions, loyalty levels, bonus-store points, and Bonus Bank tools for tracking or managing bonus funds. These are state-specific operator descriptions, not a promise that every feature is offered in every app. Iowa’s page, for instance, describes live odds and sports streams; check your own state page for the current mix.
Who can register and place a bet
Eligibility rules are jurisdiction-specific. The reviewed state pages require users to be at least 21 and physically located in the applicable state to wager, and identify additional restrictions in some locations. Colorado’s page notes restricted areas; New York’s page identifies self-exclusion restrictions. Check the rules and responsible-gambling information for your state before registering.

BetRivers’ New York site says, “You are welcome to register from any state in the U.S., but must be 21+ years old and physically located in New York to wager.” That is New York site copy, not a general rule for every market. The ability to register does not mean you can legally wager from every location.
How location verification works
During the reviewed state onboarding flows, users must enable location verification to wager. BetRivers describes mobile location services and GeoGuard; it also refers to browser-based checks for desktop use. The pages reviewed do not state minimum supported operating-system versions, so consult the current app-store listing rather than relying on an assumed device-version requirement.

If a location check fails, the official BetRivers Geolocation Error Guide identifies common causes including disabled location services or Wi-Fi, VPNs, proxies, remote-access tools, and weak or unreliable location signals. It also notes limitations involving ChromeOS and wired Ethernet, as well as potential problems near state borders or in restricted areas. Since the help article may not reflect the latest interface, check current in-app help if its steps do not match what you see.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Allow the app or browser to access your device’s location, and make sure location services are enabled.
- Use a reliable connection and avoid VPNs, proxies, or remote-access software while verifying location.
- If you are near a border or in a restricted area, move to a permitted location and retry; do not try to bypass location checks.
- If the problem continues, use the current help contact for your state-specific service.
Deposits, withdrawals, and account features
Reviewed state pages list different combinations of payment options, including bank-transfer services, debit or credit cards, PayPal, BetRivers Play+, Venmo, Apple Pay, and PayNearMe. This is not a universal list: availability can differ by state and by transaction type. Check the cashier inside the correct state-specific app before depositing or assuming a method supports withdrawals.

New York describes iRush Rewards, Bonus Bank, Bonus Store, and RushPay. Michigan and Colorado also describe loyalty points, bonus funds, and bonus-store rewards. These operator features do not guarantee savings or winnings. Read the current offer details and rules, including eligibility and any conditions on using bonus funds.
What to check in your state before using the app
Because the product is state-dependent, confirm these details on the official page and in the app for your location:
- Whether the local version offers sportsbook only or sportsbook plus casino.
- The legal age, physical-location requirement, restricted locations, and applicable regulator information.
- Which sports, live features, streams, and account tools are actually available.
- Deposit and withdrawal methods shown in the local cashier.
- The terms for current promotions, loyalty points, and bonus funds.
- The local responsible-gambling resources, self-exclusion rules, and customer-support contact.
Responsible gambling and help
Use the responsible-gambling resources and help contact listed for your own state. BetRivers’ reviewed pages publish different helpline information by jurisdiction, so a number or rule shown for one state should not be treated as universal. Set limits you can afford, and do not wager money needed for essentials. If gambling is causing harm, use the local support and self-exclusion options rather than continuing to play.
