The best wealth management app depends on the job you need it to do. For free account aggregation and investment tracking, consider Empower Personal Dashboard; for household budgeting and a shared view of accounts, Monarch or Quicken Simplifi; for automated portfolio management, Wealthfront or Betterment; and for coordinated advice from financial professionals, Range. These services are not interchangeable, so compare them by function, fees, eligibility and advice—not by one overall score.

This guide compares seven options using current product descriptions and Finder’s comparison, updated August 13, 2026. It is not an exhaustive market survey or a report of hands-on testing. Prices and eligibility can change; check the provider’s current terms before signing up.

First decide what you mean by wealth management

“Wealth management app” can refer to a tracker that gathers balances from several accounts, a budgeting tool, a service that invests a portfolio automatically, or a platform that connects you with a human advisor. A tracker can help you see investments without managing them. A budgeting app can organize accounts without making investment decisions. A robo-advisor manages investments under its own service terms, while advisor-led planning adds professional advice and may cost substantially more.

  • Track wealth: View accounts, holdings, allocations and net worth in one place.
  • Manage household finances: Combine account views with budgeting, spending and cash-flow tools.
  • Automate investing: Have a service manage a portfolio, subject to its fees, minimums and account rules.
  • Get human advice: Work with financial professionals on broader planning and coordinated decisions.

Empower illustrates why the distinction matters: its Personal Dashboard is described as free tracking and planning software, while its wealth-management business is a separate fee-based advisory service. A free dashboard is not the same service as paid investment management.

Best for free tracking: Empower Personal Dashboard

Empower Personal Dashboard is the most direct fit if your primary goal is to bring financial accounts together and monitor investments without paying for the dashboard itself. Finder describes its tracking and planning tools as free, while treating Empower’s advisory offering as a separate, fee-based service with fees tiered by assets.

That separation is important when comparing costs: the free dashboard does not mean investment advice or portfolio management is free. Decide whether you need visibility and planning tools, or whether you want an advisor to manage assets, then check the terms for that specific service. Finder’s comparison also reports more than $2 trillion in total assets under administration across Empower’s retirement and wealth-management businesses; that figure is not an investment-performance measure.

Best for household money management: Monarch and Quicken Simplifi

Monarch: shared household view

Monarch is aimed at people who want budgeting and account aggregation in one personal-finance app. Its site describes connections for bank accounts, credit cards, loans, real estate and investments, plus cash-flow and net-worth tracking and collaboration with a partner. It supports web, iOS and Android and offers a seven-day trial. Monarch says it connects to more than 13,000 financial institutions; that is the company’s own connectivity claim, not an independent measurement. See Monarch’s product details.

Choose this kind of app for a broader household financial picture, not as a substitute for a discretionary portfolio manager. The reviewed Monarch page does not establish its full subscription price, so confirm the current cost before the trial ends.

Quicken Simplifi: budgeting with investment and retirement tools

Quicken describes Simplifi as a paid service combining connected budgeting with investment tracking, retirement planning and net-worth features. Its 2026 material lists a starting price of $3.99 per month billed annually. Because this is a vendor-stated, time-sensitive price, check Quicken’s current offer and billing terms before subscribing. View Quicken Simplifi.

Best for automated investing: Wealthfront, Betterment and Acorns

These services go beyond displaying account balances: their investment features are the point. Compare the management fee or subscription against the services included, and check the minimum investment, eligible accounts, advisor access and tax features before transferring money.

Wealthfront: automated portfolios with a stated minimum and fee

Finder’s 2026 comparison lists a $500 minimum and a 0.25% management fee for Wealthfront automated investing. It also describes automated portfolios and tax-loss harvesting. Treat those numbers as a dated third-party snapshot, not a guarantee of current terms; confirm the applicable fee, account minimum and tax-feature availability directly with Wealthfront. Finder’s comparison.

Betterment: pricing varies by service and circumstances

Finder describes Betterment’s digital pricing as dependent on balance and recurring deposits, and identifies digital and premium service tiers. It also lists automated portfolios, rebalancing and tax-loss harvesting. Since the price and advisor access depend on the current plan requirements, check Betterment’s current disclosures to understand which tier fits and what it costs. Finder’s comparison.

Acorns: subscription-based round-up investing

Acorns is the more specific fit if you want round-ups and recurring automated investing under a subscription plan. Finder lists Bronze at $3 per month, Silver at $6 and Gold at $12, with different features by tier. Check the current plan comparison and whether the accounts or features you want are eligible before enrolling. Finder’s comparison.

Best for advisor-led planning: Range

Range suits a different need from a dashboard or robo-advisor: coordinated planning with access to financial professionals. Finder lists annual prices of $3,950 for Premium, $5,950 for Platinum and $12,500 for Titanium, with broader planning services at higher tiers. Those are substantial annual commitments, so compare the specific planning work and access included in each tier with the advice you need. Confirm current prices and service terms with Range before deciding. Finder’s comparison.

How to choose the right wealth management app

  1. Name the job: Decide whether you need account tracking, household budgeting, automated investing or human advice. This narrows the comparison to services that actually solve your problem.
  2. Check the full cost model: Separate a recurring subscription from a percentage-of-assets management fee and an annual advisory plan. For asset-based pricing, estimate the fee against the balance you expect to invest; for subscriptions, compare the annualized commitment and included features.
  3. Confirm eligibility: Check account minimums, accepted account types, plan conditions, and whether recurring deposits or a particular balance affect pricing or service access.
  4. Check connections and household features: If you need an all-in-one view, verify that your banks, brokerages, loans and other accounts connect reliably. If you manage money with a partner, confirm whether shared access is available and how it works.
  5. Match tools to decisions: Compare the availability of cash-flow and retirement planning, investment allocation views, tax-related features and rebalancing. A long feature list is useful only when it supports decisions you need to make.
  6. Evaluate advice and support: Distinguish automated portfolio management from access to a human professional, and check what type of advisor support a plan includes. Look at customer-support channels and availability before relying on an app for time-sensitive help.
  7. Read current provider terms: Prices, promotions, account coverage, eligibility and advisory disclosures can change. Use the provider’s current product pages and disclosures, rather than treating a comparison article’s prices as permanent.

Is $500,000 enough to work with a financial advisor?

A balance alone does not answer that question. The relevant issue is whether an advisor’s eligibility rules, fee structure and scope of service make sense for your finances. The options here illustrate different models: a free tracker, automated investing with a stated minimum, and annual flat-fee planning. Compare what advice you receive and how you pay for it rather than treating a particular account balance as a universal threshold.
