The most practical ways to save at Nordstrom are to shop its sale events, use Nordy Club rewards you would earn anyway, and request a price adjustment when a purchase meets the retailer’s rules. The Anniversary Sale usually takes place in July or August, but dates and eligibility can change. Nordstrom’s published price-adjustment wording also differs across indexed versions, so confirm the live policy before relying on an adjustment.
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Nordstrom says its Anniversary Sale generally occurs in July or August. The 2025 public sale ran July 12–August 3, with cardmember Early Access from July 8–11. Those dates are historical, not a schedule for the next sale. Nordstrom’s FAQ says the 2026 sale has wrapped up; check the current Anniversary Sale page or sign up for Nordstrom sale communications for current dates.

The event offers new merchandise at promotional prices, but the timing alone does not guarantee a particular item or discount. If you have a specific item in mind, check its price and availability during the sale rather than assuming it will be included.
Public shopping and cardmember Early Access
Nordstrom says all Nordstrom cardmembers can access the Anniversary Sale early. The exact window can depend on Nordy Club status, and shoppers must use a Nordstrom card at checkout to receive Anniversary Pricing during Early Access. Check the current event terms for the applicable dates and requirements.

Early access may help if an item is a priority, but it is not by itself a reason to open a credit card. Compare current card terms with the spending you already expect to do and the benefits you would actually use.
How Nordy Club rewards work
Nordy Club is free to join. Nordstrom advertises points that can be redeemed as Nordstrom Notes at a rate of 1,000 points for a $10 Note. The program also promotes bonus-point offers and cardmember features. Points and benefits are subject to current program rules, which Nordstrom may amend.

Not every benefit applies to every member. Nordstrom advertises five personal double-points days and other benefits for Icon members; those Icon benefits should not be assumed for other statuses. Its card page also advertises 5% off Nordstrom Rack purchases when paying with a Nordstrom credit card. Check the card and account terms for restrictions and eligibility.

Assess rewards against spending you would make regardless. A reward is not a saving if earning it requires buying something you do not need.
Does Nordstrom price match?
No. Nordstrom’s Pricing Policy says it does not price match other retailers: “We stand behind our everyday pricing, so we don’t price match other retailers.” That is different from a post-purchase adjustment when Nordstrom or certain listed competitors lower the price of an item you have already bought.

Can you get a price adjustment after buying something?
For a qualifying Nordstrom markdown, the published policy describes an adjustment for an item purchased at full price if the same color and size remain available. A request must be made within 10 days of the in-store purchase or shipment date. Nordstrom allows one adjustment per item, and an approved adjustment is credited to the original payment method. Sale-priced purchases are ineligible.
There is conflicting wording in official indexed versions of the policy about sale events. One version excludes items in Savings Events, Limited-Time Sales, Extra Savings, Anniversary Sale, Daily Deals, and Beauty Daily Deals; another says items in Nordstrom savings events and Anniversary Sales may qualify if the same color and size remains available. The available wording does not establish which applies to a particular transaction. Check the live Pricing Policy and contact Nordstrom promptly about the exact item; do not assume an event purchase qualifies.
