If you need a Danish IP address in 2026, four providers belong on your shortlist: NordVPN, Proton VPN, ExpressVPN and Surfshark. The sources behind this guide do not support a ranked top five for Denmark, so no fifth winner is presented. Each provider’s Danish server availability, privacy claims and streaming performance should be checked before you pay. “Fast,” “secure” and “unrestricted” are outcomes you have to test for yourself, not guarantees any provider can make. This guide does not include speed or streaming tests of its own.
What “best” means for a Danish VPN
A VPN is only useful for Denmark if it gives you a connection that appears to come from a Danish address. That makes server availability the first filter. Beyond that, the factors that separate providers are:
- Danish server availability and the nearby locations a provider offers as backups.
- Speed evidence, which is only meaningful when it names the test location, date, protocol and method.
- Privacy policy and any independent audit, including the audit’s scope and date.
- Device support and simultaneous-connection limits, which matter if several people share one subscription.
- Price and renewal terms, which change often and should be checked at checkout.
- Your actual use, whether that is travel, work access to Danish services, or streaming Danish content from abroad.
Streaming access is the least stable of these. Services and VPN providers block or rotate IP addresses, so no provider can promise that a particular platform will always unlock.

The four providers at a glance
The table shows what each provider’s own pages or the TechRadar 2026 roundup establish, and where the evidence stops. “Not stated” means the sources reviewed do not say.

Provider notes
NordVPN
NordVPN has the strongest general endorsement in the sources reviewed. TechRadar’s September 24, 2026 roundup names it its overall choice, based on that outlet’s own evaluation. That endorsement covers VPNs generally, not Denmark specifically. Confirm that a Danish server appears on the current list in your account before subscribing.
Proton VPN
Proton VPN is the only provider here with a dated audit summary covering its infrastructure. Its Denmark page is aimed directly at readers who want a Danish IP and presents the Danish option as a feature. Treat the speed and streaming language on that page as Proton’s own description of the service, and check the results yourself using the steps below.

ExpressVPN
ExpressVPN’s Denmark page explains its Danish server offering and states a no-activity-logs and no-connection-logs policy. That is ExpressVPN’s statement. The sources reviewed did not verify it, and they did not compare Denmark performance against other providers.

Surfshark appears in TechRadar’s current general comparison, which describes its streaming results as variable. That observation does not test Denmark. Before choosing Surfshark for a Danish IP, check its current Denmark location list and device terms, which the sources reviewed did not establish.

Privacy: what a no-logs claim does and does not prove
A VPN moves some of your network trust from your internet provider to the VPN provider. A no-logs policy is a claim unless an independent auditor has tested it, and even an audit covers only what the auditor examined, at the time it was done.
Proton’s summary of a 2026 infrastructure review by Securitum is the most concrete example in these sources. According to Proton’s audit summary, the reviewed Proton VPN server infrastructure showed no evidence of logging:

- Browsing activity
- DNS queries
- Destination services
- Network traffic contents
- User-identifiable connection metadata
Proton quotes the report as stating that “the technical evidence reviewed during the engagement did not indicate that the examined Proton VPN server infrastructure logs users’ browsing activity, DNS queries, destination services, network traffic contents or user-identifiable connection metadata.” The limits matter: this describes the examined infrastructure only, as summarised by Proton, and it does not certify competing services or guarantee how the service will operate in future.
Legal requests: Proton’s transparency figures
Proton’s transparency report, dated July 14, 2026, lists 47 legal orders for Proton VPN through June 2026, and says Proton denied all 47 because it did not hold the identifying logs requested. The same page lists 59 orders in 2025, all of which it says were denied. These are provider-reported figures for Proton VPN alone. They do not describe the VPN industry, and a denied request does not prove that every part of a service is secure.
Best Value
- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
- Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
Speed and streaming: why no provider wins on paper
No Denmark-specific, cross-provider speed dataset was available in the sources reviewed, so no provider here can be ranked as fastest for a Danish connection. Speed depends on your distance from the server, your own network, the time of day and the protocol used. Streaming depends on whether the platform has blocked the server’s IP address at that moment. Run your own comparison with this method:
- Choose the Danish server on each provider’s location list, and note the date and time of each test.
- Record a baseline speed test without the VPN on the same device and network.
- Connect to the Danish server and run the same test. Record the protocol you used, and repeat at different times of day.
- Check the IP address with a geolocation lookup while connected to confirm it shows Denmark.
- For streaming, test the exact service and account you need, and retest after any outage or renewal.
Keep the results in a simple log of date, server, protocol, download and upload speeds, and whether the service loaded. Results from one device or one day are not a reliable comparison.
How to choose
- NordVPN or Proton VPN fit readers who want a provider with a Danish server on its public list. Proton’s dated audit summary gives you a document to read; NordVPN’s sources in this guide cover its server list and general reputation only.
- ExpressVPN fits readers whose needs match its dedicated Danish page, once they have compared its no-logs statement with the terms they accept.
- Surfshark fits readers who have confirmed its Danish location list and device terms, since the sources reviewed do not support a Denmark-specific advantage.
Before paying, check the current monthly and renewal price, the number of simultaneous connections allowed on your plan, and the refund conditions. The sources reviewed did not establish these for Denmark use, and prices change often.
Quick Recap
Use this checklist before subscribing:
- A Danish server appears on the provider’s current location list.
- Your devices are supported, and the simultaneous-connection limit fits your household.
- The privacy statement and audit scope match what you need.
- You have run the speed and geolocation checks above on your own network.
