For an Israeli IP address while abroad, choose a VPN that currently lists Israel and verify that the specific service you need works before subscribing. For privacy while in Israel, compare the provider’s privacy evidence, available protocols and device support—not just its country count. ExpressVPN, Proton VPN and NordVPN publish Israel-location information, but those listings do not establish that every location uses physical servers in Israel. The available provider pages also do not support a controlled speed winner or a current deal-price comparison.
How to choose the best VPN for Israel
Start with the job you need the VPN to do. An Israeli IP address for a service you use abroad calls for a listed Israel location and a check of that service’s access rules. A VPN used inside Israel calls for attention to privacy claims, protocols and compatibility with your devices. If streaming is the priority, treat provider statements about particular channels as claims to verify, not a promise of access.
- Check the location listing. Confirm that Israel appears in the provider’s current location materials. A country listing alone does not prove that the servers are physically in that country.
- Match the VPN to your service. Check the streaming service’s own rules and requirements, then confirm whether the VPN provider identifies support for it. Access may change with service rules and provider infrastructure.
- Review privacy evidence. Read the privacy policy and look for independent audit reports. Check what the audit covered rather than treating the word “audited” as a blanket endorsement.
- Check protocols and devices. Confirm that the provider supports a protocol and app for each device you plan to use.
- Compare the actual plan terms. Verify whether the features you need are included in the plan, along with current renewal pricing, refund terms and cancellation conditions. The provider pages reviewed here do not establish current prices or deals.

| ExpressVPN | Its Israel page says users can select Israel in the app to obtain an Israeli IP. | The page says its no-logs policy was independently audited by KPMG and its TrustedServer technology by PwC, and describes the servers as RAM-only. These are provider statements; consult the audit reports for scope and findings. | The page does not establish a comparable Israel-specific speed result or, by itself, the location of physical hardware. |
| Proton VPN | Its Israel page describes connecting to an Israeli VPN server. | The page describes WireGuard and OpenVPN and says its paid offering supports up to 10 simultaneous devices. It also claims a network of over 20,000 servers in more than 140 countries; that is a provider-published figure, not an independent count. | The page does not provide an independently measured speed comparison or establish physical server placement in Israel. |
| NordVPN | Its server directory lists “Israel (1 city)” and describes both physical and virtual server types across its network. | The directory lists NordLynx, NordWhisper, IKEv2/IPSec and OpenVPN options. | The listing does not identify the physical or virtual status of the Israel location in the cited material, or provide an independent speed test for this article. |

Can a VPN get you an Israeli IP address abroad?
Connecting to a provider’s Israel location is the intended way to obtain an Israeli IP address. ExpressVPN says users can select Israel in its app, and Proton VPN describes connecting to an Israeli VPN server. These provider descriptions establish advertised functionality, not guaranteed acceptance by a particular website or streaming service.
Before relying on a VPN for a TV service, check whether that service permits VPN access and whether it requires a local account, payment method or other eligibility. A VPN connection cannot supply those requirements, and services can change how they handle VPN traffic.

Can you watch Israeli TV with a VPN?
Proton VPN’s Israel page names Makan 33, Kan 11, Keshet 12 and Reshet 13 as services viewers may access through an Israeli VPN server. That is Proton VPN’s statement, not independent confirmation that each service will work continuously or for every account.
Proton VPN says its free tier includes unlimited bandwidth and no ads, while streaming-optimized servers are paid features. Check the current plan feature table before choosing a tier for streaming; the provider’s page does not make free access to a particular channel a guarantee.

What should you check before paying?
- Server location: Confirm Israel is still listed and look for an explicit explanation of whether the location is physical or virtual. Do not infer hardware placement from a country name.
- Privacy policy and audits: Read the policy and any audit report, including its scope and date. A provider’s summary is not a substitute for the report itself.
- Streaming fit: Verify the service and account requirements you care about. No independent Israel-specific streaming test is established by the provider pages summarized here.
- Plan limits: Compare free and paid features, device limits and any streaming-specific options in the current plan details.
- Price and exit terms: Check the displayed subscription price, renewal rate, refund conditions and cancellation steps at checkout. Current offers and renewal terms are not established by the cited location pages.
Are VPNs legal in Israel?
Proton VPN says VPN use in Israel for privacy and access to geo-restricted content is legal, subject to other laws. That is a provider statement, not an independently verified account of Israeli law. This article does not establish authoritative Israeli legal guidance; for a legal decision, consult an appropriate Israeli government or legal source.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is there a fastest VPN for Israel?
The provider pages cited here do not supply a comparable, current Israel-specific speed test, so they are not enough to identify a fastest option. NordVPN’s directory describes location and protocol availability, while ExpressVPN and Proton VPN describe their own features; none of those facts is a substitute for same-time testing under the same network, device and server conditions.
