If you want a game that combines the stealth, action, and movement suggested by Perfect Dark’s 2024 gameplay reveal, start with Dishonored: Definitive Edition. It is the closest fit here for first-person stealth-action and flexible approaches, though its supernatural powers are not realistic spy gadgets. Choose Splinter Cell: Blacklist for covert-agent equipment and close combat, or Mirror’s Edge Catalyst if parkour is your priority. None is a complete substitute for the particular mix Perfect Dark’s trailer described.
What makes a good Perfect Dark alternative?
Xbox Wire’s June 9, 2024 article about Perfect Dark’s first gameplay trailer describes a mix of first-person shooter, immersive-sim, and stealth-action elements, with melee, gunplay, stealth, gadgets, and objectives that can be approached in different ways. The article says the team did not want the game to feel like just one genre. Read Xbox Wire’s trailer coverage.
That mix makes a single “closest match” misleading. The recommendations below emphasize different parts of the target: perspective and movement, stealth depth, combat style, and freedom of approach. Dishonored is the strongest cited fit for first-person stealth-action flexibility; Blacklist emphasizes covert-agent tools; Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the clearest parkour-first option.
Which game should you choose?
| Game | Best fit | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Dishonored: Definitive Edition | First-person stealth-action with supernatural traversal and multiple ways through a problem | Its powers and setting are supernatural rather than grounded espionage. |
| Splinter Cell: Blacklist | Covert-agent gadgets, close combat, and espionage framing | The cited description supports stealth-action, not parkour as a defining feature. |
| Mirror’s Edge Catalyst | First-person parkour and fluid movement | It is movement-first and stealth-adjacent, not established here as a stealth-first game. |
Dishonored: Definitive Edition is the closest first-person stealth-action fit
Bethesda’s description points to stealth approaches enabled by abilities such as teleportation, possession, and stopping time. Those powers make traversal part of how you handle a situation, rather than simply a way to get from one fight to the next. The game is a good match if you want a first-person perspective and room to approach problems differently, but its supernatural toolkit is a clear departure from a grounded covert-operations setting.
#1 Best Overall
- EXPANSIVE CAMPAIGN: Many real-world locations have been captured using photogrammetry to recreate a living, immersive environment, and multiple infiltration and extraction points and kill list targets provide a whole new perspective on each mission. Take on the Nazi plot solo or work with a partner, with improved co-op mechanics allowing you to share ammo and items, give orders and heal each other.
- ADVANCED GUNPLAY PHYSICS AND TRAVERSAL: Use ziplines, slide down slopes and shimmy along ledges to reach the perfect vantage point, or to sneak past a sharp-eyed lookout. Factor in rifle stock and barrel options along with gravity, wind and heart rate while you line up your sights on the target.
- HIGH CALIBRE CUSTOMISATION: Use workbenches to customise and upgrade virtually every aspect of your weapon – change scopes, stocks, barrels, magazines and more. Rifles, secondaries and pistols all have a huge variety of options. On top of that you can select the ammo to suit your target, from armour-piercing right down to non-lethal.
- INVASION MODE – CAMPAIGN DROP IN PvP AND CO-OP: Invade another player’s Campaign as an Axis sniper and engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse, providing a new dimension to the challenge as you stalk your prey. Alternatively, as Karl you can call for assistance and have a second sniper drop in to help you out of a tricky situation.
- TENSE ADVERSIAL MULTIPLAYER: Customise your character and loadout and earn XP, medals and ribbons as you take on intensely competitive 16 player battles that will really test your sharpshooting skills. If co-op’s more your style, you can team up with up to 3 other players against waves of enemies in Survival mode.
Bethesda identifies this release as Dishonored: Definitive Edition and describes its included content on the official game page. The page’s line, “Teleport for stealth approaches, possess any living creature, or stop time itself to orchestrate unearthly executions!”, is Bethesda’s game-description copy, not a quote attributed to an individual.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist puts gadgets and covert action first
Choose Splinter Cell: Blacklist if the covert-agent side of the comparison matters more to you than parkour. Ubisoft describes it as a stealth-action thriller and highlights equipment and close-quarters combat. That supports its fit for espionage framing, gadget-led action, and close combat, but not a claim that parkour is one of its defining strengths. See Ubisoft’s Blacklist page for its official description.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the parkour-first alternative
If first-person movement is the part you most want, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the clearest choice. GamesRadar’s 2026 guide discusses its parkour, distinct perspective, narrative, and tactile melee combat. That makes it useful as a movement-focused alternative, not a full stealth-action equivalent: the cited description does not establish it as stealth-first. See GamesRadar’s parkour-game guide.

Agile traversal is not always parkour
Dishonored’s teleportation and other powers offer unusual ways to move through a space, but that is supernatural traversal. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the clearer recommendation when you specifically mean parkour. Keeping the distinction in mind helps avoid choosing a stealth game for its mobility and expecting a dedicated parkour experience.

How to decide
- Pick Dishonored: Definitive Edition for first-person stealth-action, supernatural movement, and flexible approaches.
- Pick Splinter Cell: Blacklist for gadgets, covert-agent framing, and close-quarters action.
- Pick Mirror’s Edge Catalyst for first-person parkour and movement, accepting that it is an adjacent rather than stealth-first match.
A public recommendation discussion also mentions Dishonored, Dying Light, and Mirror’s Edge when asking for “another stealthy parkour games.” That is one anecdotal example, not evidence of a broader consensus; the three recommendations above are grounded in the cited descriptions for this comparison.
