Licensed Star Wars beach and pool towels appear in several character designs, including R2-D2, Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper, and the Mandalorian. The listings differ in size and detail, and availability depends on the retailer and region. Since there are no comparative tests here, the useful way to choose is to match the artwork and dimensions to your needs, then check the exact listing’s fabric, care instructions, shipping and stock.
Star Wars towel options at a glance
| Design and retailer | Size | Material and construction | Care and availability notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| R2-D2, Disney Store EU | Approximately 150 × 74 cm | 100% cotton; printed soft topside with terrycloth backing | Machine washable. This is a European retailer listing; check delivery eligibility and current stock. Disney Store EU listing |
| Darth Vader and Stormtrooper, Disney Store US | Not stated in the cited listing | All cotton | Marked unavailable in the cited search result; check the live listing before relying on that status. Disney Store US listing |
| Mandalorian option, Costco | 34 × 63 inches | 100% cotton | Machine wash in cold water. Costco’s design selection and availability may change. Costco listing |
These are retailer specifications, not independent measurements or performance tests. Disney Store also includes Star Wars among the character towels on its seasonal summer page, but that assortment page does not confirm that a particular design is currently available.
How to choose the right design and size
Pick the artwork first
The cited listings cover three distinct choices: R2-D2, Darth Vader with a Stormtrooper, and a Mandalorian design. Check the product image and description on the live page, especially if a retailer lets you choose among designs; selection can vary over time.

The EU R2-D2 towel is approximately 150 × 74 cm, while Costco lists its towel at 34 × 63 inches. Those measurements are not identical, and the offers come from different regional retailers. Compare the listed dimensions with the person who will use the towel and whether it needs to cover a chair, fit a pool bag, or wrap around someone comfortably. The cited Disney Store US listing does not state dimensions, so do not assume its towel matches either example.

Read the fabric, construction and care details
All three cited product examples specify cotton, but only the Disney Store EU R2-D2 page describes a soft printed topside and terrycloth backing. That extra description tells you what the listing claims about construction; it does not establish that the towel is softer or more absorbent than the others.
- Fabric: Confirm the composition on the exact product page. The cited listings state 100% cotton for the R2-D2 and Costco towels, and all cotton for the Disney Store US towel.
- Construction: The EU R2-D2 listing is the only one of these sources that specifies a terrycloth backing and soft topside.
- Washing: The EU Disney listing says machine washable; Costco specifies machine washing in cold water. Follow the care label supplied with the towel you buy.
Verify stock, shipping and seller region before buying
Retail pages are separate offers, not proof that every design ships to every country. The cited Disney Store US result marked its towel unavailable, while the EU Disney and Costco listings are distinct regional offers. Before checkout, confirm that the product is still listed, the selected design is the one you want, the retailer delivers to your location, and the live page’s product details match your needs.

The retailer specifications establish artwork, some dimensions, cotton composition, limited construction details, and washing guidance. They do not rank the towels for drying speed, absorbency, durability, colorfastness, comfort, or value during use. Without comparable testing, there is no evidence-based “best overall” or “most absorbent” choice among them. Choose based on the design and stated details that matter to you, rather than assuming that one listing performs better.
