Notebookcheck’s fall 2026 comparison puts the Sony Xperia 1 VIII first at 88.3%, followed closely by the Honor Magic V6 at 88.1% and the Oppo Find X9s Pro at 87%. Those are Notebookcheck review scores for its tested selection—not a universal ranking of every phone on sale. The best choice for you depends on what you value: camera style, a foldable design, battery life, software support, screen characteristics, or price and availability in your country.
What the fall 2026 comparison covers
Notebookcheck’s comparison, first published September 11 and updated October 4, 2026, lists 19 phones tested during its review period. It reports overall and individual ratings, selected specifications, measurements, and benchmark scores. The selection is useful for comparing those reviewed models, but it does not represent every phone sold worldwide.
The listed phones are Sony Xperia 1 VIII, Honor Magic V6, Oppo Find X9s Pro, Oppo Find N6, Vivo X300 FE, Motorola Razr Fold, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro Max, Motorola Razr 70 Ultra (Razr Ultra 2026), Google Pixel 10a, Xiaomi 17T, Motorola Edge 70 Pro, Honor 600, Samsung Galaxy A57, Motorola Razr 70 Plus, Samsung Galaxy A37 5G, Motorola Razr 70, Gigaset GS6 Pro, and Motorola Moto G37. Notebookcheck’s table includes scores, processors, memory and storage, display information, and other selected values; consult each linked review for the full evaluation.

How to read the top scores
| Place in the displayed comparison | Phone | Notebookcheck overall score |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sony Xperia 1 VIII | 88.3% |
| 2 | Honor Magic V6 | 88.1% |
| 3 | Oppo Find X9s Pro | 87% |
The Xperia and Magic V6 scores are only 0.2 percentage points apart. That narrow gap makes it more useful to compare their features and compromises than to treat the ranking as a decisive measure of which phone is right for every buyer.

The Magic V6 is a high-performing foldable with a large battery, IP69 certification, and long-term updates; Notebookcheck also identifies cooling as a limitation associated with its slim design.
Choose by the kind of phone you want
A conventional flagship with legacy connections
The Sony Xperia 1 VIII stands out in Notebookcheck’s coverage for combining a compact-ish form with both a memory-card slot and headphone jack. Those features may matter if you already use wired headphones or removable storage. Its expense is a material counterpoint, so compare the current price and exact regional model before buying.

A foldable with high-end features
Notebookcheck highlights the Honor Magic V6’s performance, battery, IP69 certification, and long-term updates. A foldable also changes the everyday trade-offs: consider its size and weight when closed and open, durability, and how sustained workloads may be affected by cooling. The publication notes a cooling limitation on the Magic V6; its overall score alone does not answer whether a foldable suits your routine.

Notebookcheck calls out the Google Pixel 10a’s satellite emergency-call capability as distinctive in its price range, along with a USB-C 3.2 port and its main camera. It also warns that the display exhibits PWM flickering, a relevant caveat for people sensitive to screen flicker. Check the feature’s availability and conditions in your region before relying on it for emergencies.

Recognition that is not simply a score ranking
Notebookcheck’s editors’ choice awards highlight phones that impressed its editors recently; the publication says these awards are not determined solely by review score. Motorola Razr Fold and Google Pixel 10a are among the models it names. Treat an award as an editorial signal about a particular phone, not proof that it is the best fit for every buyer.
Which phone has the best cameras?
There is no single camera winner established across the 19 phones here: the answer depends on the photos you take and the camera characteristics you prefer. TechRadar’s camera guide frames the decision that way and names the iPhone 18 Pro Max as a likely leading choice for iPhone users and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for Android users. Those are TechRadar’s editorial judgments, not a directly comparable lab result from Notebookcheck’s displayed top three.

Before choosing, look for evidence about the kinds of shots you care about—such as wide scenes, distant subjects, portraits, or low-light photos—in the individual phone reviews. A headline score or a general camera label cannot establish that every lens or shooting style will suit you equally well.
Compare more than the overall score
Use the comparison table and individual reviews to check the specifications that affect your own use. The relevant questions are:
Best Value
- Carrier: This phone is locked to Tracfone, which means this device can only be used on the Tracfone wireless network. Tracfone plan required, activating is easy, just 3 steps.
- DISPLAY: Immersive viewing on a 6.7-inch super-bright 120Hz display with powerful stereo speakers and Bass Boost for cinematic entertainment.
- CAMERA SYSTEM: Advanced 50MP Quad Pixel camera captures sharp, detailed photos and videos in any lighting condition
- PERFORMANCE: Lightning-fast 5G connectivity paired with a powerful processor and RAM Boost for smooth multitasking.
- BATTERY LIFE: Long-lasting 5000mAh battery with TurboPower charging technology delivers hours of power in minutes.
- Form factor: Do you want a conventional slab or a foldable? For a foldable, consider both open and closed dimensions, weight, durability, and cooling.
- Battery and charging: Look for reported runtime and charging support, and read the test conditions before treating a runtime figure as typical.
- Display: Compare size, panel type, resolution, and refresh behavior. Pay particular attention to the Pixel 10a’s reported PWM flicker if you are sensitive to it.
- Performance and storage: Match the processor, memory, and storage configuration to your workload and how much local content you keep.
- Software and features: Check the stated update commitment and whether useful features, including satellite emergency calling, are supported where you live.
- Price and availability: Verify the exact model, regional variant, storage option, and current stock with a seller in your country.
Check current availability before buying
Prices, inventory, and regional variants can change after a comparison is published. Notebookcheck’s page includes retailer listings and flags invalid product IDs for some embedded offers, so do not assume every listing is current or available in your market. Confirm the model and storage configuration on the retailer’s live product page and compare the final price before ordering.
For broader context, independent lab testing can cover many different dimensions. Les Numériques says it tests more than 100 phones per year and makes around 1,000 measurements per phone across performance, photography, screen, battery life, and ergonomics. That describes Les Numériques’ testing operation; it is not a measurement count for Notebookcheck’s comparison.
