For a Samsung home-theater setup, the right pick depends on whether you want included rear speakers, a higher channel count, or a soundbar that is easier to place. In Samsung’s US lineup, the 2026 HW-Q990H is the most complete of the four models compared here, with 11.1.4 channels, a subwoofer, and rear speakers. The HW-Q900H has fewer channels at 7.1.2, while the 2025 HW-QS700F and HW-Q600F are 3.1.2-channel options. These are feature-based recommendations from Samsung’s specifications, not independent listening-test rankings.

Samsung’s catalog places Q-Series soundbars at 3.1.2 to 11.1.4 channels and lists SpaceFit Sound Pro across the series. Its other soundbar groups cover different configurations: Ultra Slim is listed at 3.1 to 3.1.2, All-in-One at 3.0 to 5.0, and soundbars with subwoofers at 2.0 to 5.1. What the channel numbers and included components tell you
Channel count
The first number describes the main audio channels, the number after the first decimal point indicates a subwoofer channel, and the final number indicates height channels. A 3.1.2 system and an 11.1.4 system are substantially different configurations on paper, but channel count alone does not establish which will sound better in a particular room. The sources here document specifications, not comparative listening results.
Rear speakers and subwoofer
Check the package before buying, rather than assuming a bar’s channel configuration means separate rear speakers are included. Samsung explicitly lists rear speakers and a subwoofer with the Q990H. The Q600F listing explicitly says rear speakers are not included and identifies a wireless subwoofer. For the Q900H, the available product title specifies a subwoofer, but rear-speaker inclusion is not established; verify the live listing. The QS700F listing documents a subwoofer.

Samsung’s Q600F page shows a 9250S wireless rear-speaker-kit offer. Treat this as an accessory possibility for that model, not proof that the kit is compatible with every Samsung soundbar. Confirm compatibility for the exact soundbar and check the current package and availability before purchasing.
Check TV, source, and connection compatibility
Q-Symphony
Samsung describes Q-Symphony as synchronizing a compatible Samsung TV and soundbar so their speakers operate together. The catalog footnote says the feature requires a compatible 2020–2025 Samsung TV. Confirm the exact TV and soundbar pairing; owning a Samsung TV alone does not establish compatibility. Wireless Dolby Atmos
Samsung says its Wireless Dolby Atmos claim applies to compatible 2022–2025 Samsung TVs, and compatible source content is required. Check the specific TV, soundbar, and content source before expecting a cable-free Atmos setup. A feature listed on a soundbar does not by itself guarantee that the rest of the system supports the same wireless arrangement. See Samsung’s compatibility note.

HDMI and eARC
The Q600F listing names eARC. If your setup relies on eARC, confirm that the TV has an eARC port and that you can connect the soundbar to it; also check the TV’s audio-output settings and the source device’s format support. The specifications here do not establish identical connection options across all four models, so compare the exact model’s current ports and supported formats with your TV and devices.

Match the system to your room and priorities
- Want rear speakers in the documented package: The Q990H is the clearest choice in this comparison because Samsung lists rear speakers and a subwoofer with it.
- Want a higher-channel configuration but need to check the box contents: The Q900H is 7.1.2, but confirm whether rear speakers are included before treating it as a complete surround package.
- Need more placement flexibility: Samsung describes the QS700F as having a convertible fit. Check its dimensions and intended placement in the product listing against your TV stand, wall, and room layout.
- Prefer a 3.1.2 option and may add rear speakers later: The Q600F does not include rear speakers; verify kit compatibility and total cost before choosing it on the assumption that expansion will be straightforward.
Room size, seating position, walls, furniture, and speaker placement affect what a system can deliver. Samsung lists SpaceFit Sound Pro on the Q990H and Q900H pages and across its Q-Series category, but the available specifications do not establish a measured advantage for one room or listener. Treat it as a documented feature, not a substitute for checking fit or listening for yourself where possible.
