Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold8 has a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display, and describes its form factor as wider and shorter than earlier Fold-series designs. Samsung’s accessory documentation explains that its device reference documents show shape and component placement to help accessory makers design products; it lists a Galaxy Z Fold8 reference dated August 7, 2026. These details are a reason to verify the exact model name on a case listing, not proof that every older Fold case is incompatible.
The Fold8 was unveiled on July 22, 2026. Samsung reported sales starting August 7 in select markets, with availability through carriers, retailers, Samsung.com, and Samsung Experience Stores; its global release announcement said availability began in 106 markets. Will a Galaxy Z Fold7 case fit the Z Fold8?
That has not been established by cross-generation fit tests. Samsung’s description of a changed form factor and its dedicated Fold8 design reference mean you should not assume a Fold7 case fits. Buy only when the manufacturer or seller explicitly lists Galaxy Z Fold8 compatibility, and check return terms in case the fit differs from the listing.
