The “$440 off Galaxy S25 Ultra with no trade-in” deal was reported in March 2025, not verified as an April offer. It applied to Samsung’s unlocked 1TB Galaxy S25 Ultra and was described as a combination of instant savings and a free double-storage promotion. Carrier offers were separate, conditional deals—not the same as an unconditional price cut.
What the $440 Galaxy S25 Ultra deal covered
On March 14, 2025, 9to5Google reported a $440 reduction on the unlocked 1TB Galaxy S25 Ultra without a trade-in. The report attributed the offer to Samsung instant savings combined with a free double-storage promotion. A March 6 report also described a $440 no-trade-in offer during Samsung’s Discover Samsung sale. 9to5Google’s March 14 report and its March 6 report are evidence of a March promotion; neither establishes that it was still available in April.
Samsung announced a starting MSRP of $1,299.99 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations. The reported $440 offer concerned the 1TB unlocked model, not every S25 Ultra storage option. See Samsung’s Galaxy S25 launch announcement for the product and launch-price details.
Was the $440 deal available in April 2025?
The available dated reports do not verify that it was. They document the offer in March, and no authoritative archived Samsung promotion page or complete dated April carrier-offer record establishes April availability. It would therefore be inaccurate to present $440 off as a confirmed April deal. Samsung’s current offers page describes later promotions and cannot prove what was redeemable in April 2025: Samsung offers.

How carrier offers differed from an unlocked discount
Carrier promotions can advertise larger headline savings, but the terms may require a qualifying trade-in, a particular plan, a new line, or bill credits over time. Compare the actual conditions and total cost rather than treating every advertised amount as an immediate reduction to the phone’s price.

| Offer | Published terms | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Verizon launch offer | Up to $1,000 off a Galaxy S25 Ultra with a select trade-in and Unlimited Ultimate. Verizon also described a no-trade-in monthly-payment offer requiring a new line on Unlimited Ultimate. | Conditional carrier offers, not an unconditional cash discount. Verizon’s launch announcement does not establish that these terms remained available in April. Verizon’s announcement |
| AT&T launch information | AT&T said S25 offers varied by device and restrictions applied. It also announced 25% off certain unlimited plans for eligible military members, veterans, teachers, nurses, and their families, subject to multi-line pricing conditions. | The plan discount is not an S25 device discount. The announcement is not proof of a specific April device offer. AT&T’s S25 announcement |
| T-Mobile and current offer pages | T-Mobile’s currently indexed listing associates S25-family promotions with eligible plans and trade-in conditions. AT&T and Samsung current deal pages show later offers. | These pages illustrate that terms change; they do not verify April 2025 promotions. T-Mobile offers and AT&T deals |
What to check before comparing a carrier deal
- Trade-in: Check whether one is required and which devices qualify; “select trade-in” does not mean every old phone receives the maximum credit.
- Plan and line: Confirm the required plan tier, whether a new line is needed, and whether keeping that plan changes the overall cost.
- Credit timing: Distinguish an immediate price reduction from monthly bill credits spread across a contract period.
- Added-device costs: A watch or tablet advertised “on us” may still require a qualifying line or service plan. Verizon’s launch announcement tied its Galaxy Watch7 or Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G add-on to service-plan requirements.
- Date: Use an offer page or announcement dated to the period you care about. A current listing cannot establish an April 2025 price or freebie.
- Other charges: Check taxes, activation charges, and any recurring charges for the phone’s required service or an added device.
