If you want another game with Silent Hill’s mix of psychological unease, exploration, puzzles and danger, start with SIGNALIS. It combines explicit survival-resource management with themes of identity and memory. For a different emphasis, The Medium centers on supernatural exploration across two realities, while Amnesia: The Bunker is an adjacent pick for first-person survival pressure.
Choose by what you want more of
“Like Silent Hill” can mean a story shaped by guilt or identity, scarce supplies and vulnerable combat, dreamlike imagery, or the slow discovery of a disturbing place. These games overlap with different parts of that mix, so the best next game depends on which part matters most to you.
| Game | Best fit | What it shares with Silent Hill | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| SIGNALIS | Psychological themes alongside survival mechanics | Resource management, puzzles, nightmarish creatures, cosmic dread, and themes of identity and memory | Its aesthetic and horror are science-fiction oriented. |
| The Medium | Dual-world exploration and supernatural mystery | Psychological atmosphere, exploration, puzzles, and hostile encounters | Its central conceit is exploring the real and spirit worlds at once, rather than focusing on the same survival-resource mix as SIGNALIS. |
| Amnesia: The Bunker | First-person survival tension | Vulnerability and danger management in a threatening setting | It is a confined bunker experience; the available description does not establish a close match in psychological themes or puzzle style. |
| Silent Hill 2 (2024 remake) | Returning to the series through its modern remake | The series’ psychological horror, including guilt and grief | It is a same-series option, not an outside recommendation. |
Best outside pick for the full survival-horror mix: SIGNALIS
SIGNALIS is the strongest documented match if you want psychological unease and survival systems in the same game. PlayStation’s official description identifies it as psychological survival horror and highlights resource management, puzzles, nightmarish creatures, cosmic dread, identity and memory. That combination makes it the clearest first choice here for someone seeking both vulnerability and unsettling ideas.

For supernatural dual-world puzzles: The Medium
The Medium is a better fit if you want exploration and mystery built around a striking setting rather than the strongest documented emphasis on resource scarcity. Bloober Team describes it as a third-person psychological horror game in which you explore the real and spirit worlds at once, solve puzzles that use both realities, and survive encounters with The Maw.
The official site lists PC, Xbox and PS5 purchase paths, as well as a physical retail edition. It also identifies Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski as co-composers. Those credits may appeal to Silent Hill fans, but the useful distinction is the game’s dual-world structure. The site describes a “Two Worlds Special Edition” with a steelbook, physical game, official soundtrack and artbook; edition contents and retailer availability can vary. For first-person pressure: Amnesia: The Bunker
Choose Amnesia: The Bunker if the appeal is being trapped in a threatening place and having to manage survival under pressure. PlayStation’s listing describes it as a first-person horror game set in a sandbox bunker, where exploration can improve your chances of survival. That makes it an adjacent recommendation for tension and vulnerability, not a confirmed match for Silent Hill’s psychological themes or puzzle approach.

If you have not played this entry: Silent Hill 2 (2024 remake)
If your Silent Hill experience is limited to another installment, the 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake is the direct same-series route. Konami describes it as a full remake of the 2001 PlayStation 2 original, released for PS5 and PC on 8 October 2024. Its announcement frames James Sunderland’s journey through guilt, grief and existential horror, and notes expanded areas, an over-the-shoulder view, revised combat and added cut scenes.
It is not a game outside the series, but it gives newcomers to this particular story a modern way to encounter the reference point behind many “what should I play after Silent Hill 2?” searches. Konami: SILENT HILL 2; Konami release announcement.
