No keyboard makes the onscreen keys on an iPhone bigger. The quickest way to make the keys easier to read is built into iOS: turn off Show Lowercase Keys, then rotate the phone to landscape in apps that support the wider layout. A physical Bluetooth keyboard is a different tool. It can make typing and navigation easier for some people, but it does not enlarge the keys on the iPhone screen. This guide covers the built-in settings first, then explains when an external keyboard such as Apple’s Magic Keyboard or Logitech’s Keys-To-Go 2 is worth considering.
Start with the onscreen keyboard settings
Apple’s accessibility guidance for the iPhone keyboard identifies two adjustments that cost nothing and need no new hardware.
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards & Typing.
- Turn off Show Lowercase Keys. The onscreen keys then show uppercase letters, which some readers find easier to tell apart.
- Rotate the iPhone to landscape in an app that supports it. Apple names Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari as examples. The wider layout gives the keys more apparent size. Apps that do not support the change keep the portrait layout.
Menu labels can shift between iOS versions, so if you do not see these options exactly as written, check the Accessibility menu on your device before assuming a setting is missing.
Make text and screen elements larger
Keyboard visibility and overall screen visibility are separate problems. Enlarging the keyboard does not make the rest of the interface easier to read, and enlarging text does not change the keyboard layout. Apple’s support article Make text easier to read on iPhone documents the following display options, which are worth trying alongside the keyboard changes above.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Large Print】 High contrast, large print keyboard offers increased visibility with easy to see yellow keycaps and crisp large print black letters. These high-contrast keys can really help those who have trouble seeing keyboards. Perfect for elderly, the visually impaired, schools, special needs departments and libraries, as well as companies.
- 【Super Bluetooth Chip】America import bluetooth chip, makes the connection steady and fast.Operating distance up to 10 meters.
- 【Silent Scissor Keycap】 Scissor structure makes the typing more quiete .What's more, we use metal support inside which makes the scissor more durable.
- 【 Long Battery Life】The bluetooth keyboard uses an energy-saving design and automatic sleep mode to allow up to 6 months between battery changes. (2 X AAA Battery, Not Included)
- 【Wide Compatibility】Compatible with iPads, iPhones and Bluetooth-enabled Tablets, Laptops and Macbooks.
| Option | What it changes | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Larger Text | Text size in apps that support Dynamic Type-style sizing | Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size |
| Bold Text | Weight of text across the interface | Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size |
| Larger Accessibility Sizes | Text sizes beyond the standard range | Accessibility text-size settings, as described in Apple’s text guidance |
| Display Zoom | Overall size of screen content | Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size |
| Show Borders | Outlines around buttons and controls, so edges are easier to see | Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size |
| Color adjustments | Contrast and color presentation of the screen | Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size |
Display Zoom and Larger Text make more of the screen bigger, but they do not change the layout of the keyboard itself, so combine them with landscape mode if the keys still feel small.
Magnify the screen while you type
Zoom is the option for people who need a magnified view rather than a permanently larger interface. Apple’s Zoom in on the iPhone screen documentation describes two modes: Full Screen Zoom, which magnifies the whole display, and Window Zoom, which magnifies a movable window. Open Settings > Accessibility > Zoom to choose a mode.
Rank #2
- 【High-Contrast Yellow Keys with Bold Black Letters】Designed with vibrant yellow keycaps and high-visibility black print, this keyboard makes typing effortless for seniors and those with visual impairments. The clear contrast reduces eye strain and enhances readability.
- 【Compact & Portable Slim Design】With its slim profile and small footprint (11.15" x 4.65"), this keyboard is easy to carry and ideal for travel. It fits comfortably in bags without sacrificing a comfortable typing experience.
- 【Long-Lasting Rechargeable Battery with USB-C Charging】 Powered by a built-in rechargeable battery with USB-C charging, this keyboard delivers over 3 months of use on a single charge—outlasting many backlit large-print keyboards and reducing frequent charging.
- 【Quiet Typing with Scissor-Switch Keys】The keyboard features a whisper-quiet scissor-switch mechanism, providing a smooth, responsive typing feel while minimizing noise—perfect for use in shared spaces or quiet environments.
- 【Bluetooth Connection with macOS Support】Compatible with Apple systems, this keyboard connects seamlessly via Bluetooth. Simply turn it on, press FN + 1 to pair, and enjoy a clutter-free setup. No dongle needed—just reliable, instant connectivity.
- Follow Focus moves the magnified view with the item you are working on, which helps when you type into a field.
- Smart Typing switches to Window Zoom when a keyboard appears, so the typing area is magnified without enlarging the whole screen.
The trade-off is that magnification shows less of the screen at once. Test whether the magnified view fits the apps you use most before relying on it.

When a physical keyboard helps
An external keyboard adds physical keys and keyboard navigation. Apple documents two capabilities that matter here. First, a connected keyboard can be paired over Bluetooth. Second, Full Keyboard Access lets you move around the interface with the keyboard instead of touch. The focus highlight used for this navigation can be adjusted for color, contrast, and size, and the keyboard commands can be customized. Set it up at Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards & Typing > Full Keyboard Access.

- 【Large Print】 High contrast, large print keyboard offers increased visibility with easy to see white keycaps and crisp large print black letters.

- 【Wide Compatibility】Compatible with iPads, iPhones and Bluetooth-enabled Tablets, Laptops and Macbooks.
What a physical keyboard does not do is change the size of the onscreen keyboard. If your goal is larger keys on the screen, use the settings in the first section. If your goal is easier typing with physical keys or fewer touch-based steps, a keyboard is the right category.
Apple Magic Keyboard
- Turn on the Magic Keyboard and charge it.
- On the iPhone, open Settings > Bluetooth.
- Select the keyboard to pair it. If it is already paired with another device, Apple’s pairing guidance says you may need to unpair it from that device first.
Logitech Keys-To-Go 2
- Turn the keyboard on and put it in Bluetooth pairing mode, following Logitech’s getting-started instructions.
- On the iPhone, open Settings > Bluetooth and select Keys-To-Go 2.
- Logitech states that the keyboard detects the operating system automatically and lists iPadOS, iOS, macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS as supported.
Compare your options by need
| What you need | Best-supported approach | What it changes | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Larger onscreen keys | Rotate to landscape in a supported app | Keyboard layout and apparent key size | Only in apps that support the layout; Apple names Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari |
| Easier-to-tell-apart key labels | Turn off Show Lowercase Keys | Letter case on onscreen keys | Changes case only, not key size |
| Larger text and interface elements | Larger Text, Bold Text, Larger Accessibility Sizes, Display Zoom, Show Borders | Text and surrounding screen elements | Does not change the keyboard layout |
| Magnification while typing | Zoom with Follow Focus or Smart Typing | Magnified view of the screen | Shows less content at once |
| Physical typing or keyboard navigation | Pair a compatible Bluetooth keyboard; set up Full Keyboard Access if needed | Input method and navigation | Does not enlarge onscreen keys |
Apple’s guidance describes these features as options that may suit different needs. The documentation does not establish that any one key size or layout will be easier for every person, so the best choice depends on what is hard for you today.

Checklist before buying an external keyboard
- Confirm the manufacturer’s current listing says it supports iPhone and iOS. Compatibility is documented by the maker, and listings can change.
- Check the connection method. The Apple and Logitech setups described above use Bluetooth.
- Compare the key layout and key size in the manufacturer’s specifications, not in summaries.
- Consider portability if you will carry the keyboard with the phone.
- Decide whether you need physical input, keyboard navigation, or both. Full Keyboard Access is useful for navigation; it is not a substitute for larger onscreen keys.
- If possible, try the typing feel in person before committing, because key spacing and travel vary by person.
