As of October 8, 2026, Apple’s U.S. store lists the iPhone 17 starting at $899, the iPhone 17e at $699, and the iPhone Air at $1,099. Those are Apple’s listed starting prices—not necessarily the lowest prices from other sellers. Apple also displays carrier-promotion summaries, but the available information does not establish their current savings or eligibility terms. Check the seller’s live offer before choosing a deal.

Where to look for an iPhone 17 deal
Apple’s U.S. store
Apple’s product pages provide direct-purchase starting prices and show summaries of carrier promotions from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Apple also displays trade-in estimates; the value depends on the device you trade in and current terms. Use the product page as a price reference, then compare the complete carrier offer rather than assuming its headline savings apply to you.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Carrier deal pages
Check AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon directly for current eligibility rules, available models, and stock. T-Mobile’s deals page notes that terms and conditions apply and surfaces a device connection charge and an account limit. Its presence—and Apple’s carrier summaries—does not establish the exact offer, savings, or qualifications available to a particular customer.
Retailers selling older Pro models
Because Apple no longer lists the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, any remaining offer is seller-specific. Confirm that the exact model and storage are in stock, and check whether the phone is new, refurbished, or otherwise subject to different return or warranty terms before comparing prices.

How to compare the real cost of offers
A large advertised discount may depend on a qualifying plan, trade-in, new line, or port-in, and may arrive as monthly bill credits rather than an immediate reduction. Compare the full obligation and what happens if you leave early.

- Match the exact phone. Confirm model, storage, condition, and availability. A price for an entry storage option or a different condition is not a like-for-like comparison.
- Check the upfront price and trade-in. Separate the direct purchase price from any estimated trade-in value. Verify which trade-in device qualifies and whether its condition affects the credit.
- Read the eligibility requirements. Look for required plan, new-line or port-in rules, eligible account status, and any trade-in requirement. Do not count a promotion until you qualify under the seller’s current terms.
- Find the installment and credit schedule. Confirm the payment term and how the promotional credit is applied. If credits are monthly, determine how many remain if you cancel service, change plans, or pay off the phone early.
- Add fees and account restrictions. Include connection or activation charges and check any account limits. T-Mobile’s page, for example, surfaces a device connection charge and account limit; confirm the current amounts and rules directly with the carrier.
- Compare the total you will pay. Add the phone payments, required service cost over the relevant period, and fees, then subtract credits you are eligible to receive. Compare that result with buying the phone directly and keeping or selecting service independently.
What counts as the best deal for you?
- Choose a direct purchase comparison if you want to avoid tying the phone discount to a carrier plan or bill-credit schedule. Apple’s listed starting prices provide a current U.S. reference point, not a guarantee of the cheapest seller.
- Consider a carrier promotion only after confirming that you meet its plan, line, trade-in, and account requirements and are comfortable with the installment period and credit conditions.
- For an iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max, prioritize confirmed stock and exact condition over a headline discount; these models are no longer in Apple’s current lineup according to the October 6, 2026 roundup.
Before you check out

- Save or review the offer details showing eligible model, storage, plan, trade-in, line requirements, fees, and credit schedule.
- Confirm the return policy and, for older Pro models, the phone’s condition and applicable warranty.
