If Guns of Eschaton is running poorly, the official temporary recommendation is to open Settings → Graphics and manually select the Low or Medium preset. For visibility, check your installed build for a field-of-view (FOV) option; the official community post confirms that players’ FOV feedback was passed to the development team, but does not confirm that an FOV control is available.
Use the official graphics workaround for low FPS
The official Guns of Eschaton Steam Community post recommends choosing Low or Medium manually under Settings → Graphics while a fix is in progress: official Steam Community updates. Try one preset, play in the same area, then try the other and keep the one that feels smoother without making the image too hard to read.
This is temporary guidance, not a guaranteed fix. The post does not identify an affected build or PC configuration, and no controlled benchmark or FPS improvement is published. Results may differ between computers.
Check whether your build has an FOV option
FOV affects how much of the scene you see horizontally. The official community post says, “We’ve also seen your feedback about FOV and passed it on to the dev team.” It does not say whether an FOV slider has since been added, or recommend a numerical value.

Open the settings in your installed demo build and look for an FOV control. If it is present, adjust it in small increments and check whether nearby targets and the edges of the screen remain comfortable to see. If it is absent, there is no verified in-game FOV setting to change based on the cited official information. Check the official Steam Community updates for changes.
Check your PC against the published minimum GPU
Steam lists an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 as the minimum graphics requirement on the current store listing, accessed October 7, 2026: Guns of Eschaton on Steam. This is a published requirement, not a performance benchmark or proof that a graphics-card upgrade is necessary. Try the official preset guidance before drawing that conclusion.

What these settings do—and do not—tell you about difficulty
Graphics presets and difficulty settings are different. In a response on the developer’s Reddit AMA, Eschatology Entertainment said, “No, the game doesn’t have difficulty settings”: Eschatology Entertainment AMA. That answer does not establish the current demo’s complete options menu, so check the build you are playing for what is available.
Why settings may change
The Steam listing currently says Guns of Eschaton is not yet available. Its demo and settings guidance may therefore evolve; consult the options in your installed version rather than assuming that menu labels or controls are fixed. The publisher announced on June 30, 2026, that 4Divinity secured worldwide publishing and distribution rights, with PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series planned: 4Divinity announcement. Planned platforms and release details can change before launch.
