For straightforward motorcycle POV footage, the GoPro HERO13 Black is the simplest fit in GoPro’s current lineup. Choose the MAX2 if you want to record a 360-degree scene and decide on the framing later. The MISSION 1 2-Wheel Motor Sport Bundle is aimed at riders building a more creator-oriented camera setup, with motorcycle-relevant mounts included.
These are use-case recommendations based on GoPro’s product descriptions and specifications, not independent head-to-head motorcycle tests. Your mounting position, ride length, and editing preferences matter as much as the camera.

Why the HERO13 Black is the straightforward POV choice
A conventional action camera records the angle you point it toward, which makes it a natural choice when you already know whether you want a forward-facing helmet view, a bike-mounted view, or another fixed perspective. GoPro says its HERO Black cameras are optimized for action sports and POV capture; that is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent ranking.

The same announcement gives continuous recording estimates of 1.5 hours at 4K30 and 5.3K30, and over 2.5 hours at 1080p30. Those are GoPro estimates, not a guarantee for a particular ride: settings and conditions affect actual runtime. Plan for a spare battery or a charging option if your planned recording time exceeds what your settings and conditions can support.
When a 360-degree camera makes more sense
Choose the MAX2 if capturing the whole scene and selecting the view during editing matters more than having a simple, preselected angle. GoPro’s current camera catalog describes MAX2 as a true 8K 360 camera with reframing tools, and GoPro’s powersports pages include it for ride-oriented footage.

A 360 workflow gives you room to choose the framing after a ride, but it moves that decision into editing. If you want footage already composed around one direction and minimal post-production, the conventional HERO13 Black approach is more direct.

What the MISSION 1 motor sport bundle is for
GoPro lists a MISSION 1 2-Wheel Motor Sport Bundle that includes a Helmet Front + Side Mount and Universal Adhesive Mounts. The bundle is relevant if you want a camera system marketed for two-wheel motor sport and are assembling a creator-oriented capture setup. GoPro positions MISSION 1 as a compact cinematic camera line, while it describes HERO Black cameras as optimized for action sports and POV; those distinct product positions do not establish that one is better for every rider.

Choose the mount for the viewpoint, not just the camera
A helmet-mounted view and a bike-mounted view solve different framing problems. GoPro’s Helmet Front + Side Mount is described for motorcycle helmets. Its listed components are a swivel mount assembly, two curved adhesive mounts, a vertical mounting buckle, and a thumb screw. Check GoPro’s camera compatibility information before buying a mount for a particular camera.
GoPro advises choosing a helmet that meets applicable standards and following the helmet manufacturer’s safe-use instructions. Do not assume that an adhesive camera mount is appropriate for every helmet or location; follow the helmet maker’s guidance.

For a vehicle-mounted perspective, GoPro says its Suction Cup can attach to motorcycles and claims it is proven at speeds of 150+ mph. That figure is GoPro’s claim, not an independent safety guarantee. Mount choice, surface, installation, and riding conditions remain important; do not treat the speed claim as assurance that a mount is safe in every use.

How to make the choice
- Choose the capture style. For one known helmet or bike angle, start with the HERO13 Black. For a 360-degree recording you will reframe later, consider MAX2.
- Decide how much editing you want. A fixed POV gives you a defined view while recording; 360 capture offers later framing choices but requires a reframing workflow.
- Match the mount to the shot. Check official compatibility and select a helmet or vehicle mount appropriate to the intended position.
- Plan recording time. Use GoPro’s runtime estimates as a planning reference, not a promise, and account for settings and conditions on longer rides.
