For the best all-around simulation-oriented golf game on modern consoles, start with PGA TOUR 2K25. Its official feature set includes MyCAREER, Course Designer and online Societies, and it is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. For a more colorful, accessible game, choose EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS on PS5 or Nintendo Switch. EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is another option on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S if professional-tour career play and licensed events are your priority.

Which golf game should you choose?
Choose PGA TOUR 2K25 for simulation-oriented features and broad console reach
2K’s official materials highlight MyCAREER, Course Designer and online Societies. The game’s Switch 2 edition includes offline modes as well as online modes, and Nintendo lists its release date as February 6, 2026. 2K describes cross-platform Societies in the Switch 2 announcement; its support page specifies crossplay among PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for Societies and Ranked Play. Choose EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS for a more casual round
Bandai Namco presents HOT SHOTS as accessible, classic golf with single-player and multiplayer play. Its official announcement lists more than 25 playable characters and identifies PAC-MAN as an unlockable character. The publisher’s phrase “easy-to-learn challenging-to-master” sums up its intended appeal, rather than serving as an independent difficulty assessment. EA’s 2023 launch materials describe a career that progresses from amateur events through the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR, as well as all four men’s majors at launch. EA also reported 30 courses at launch: 28 real-life courses and two fantasy courses. Those are launch-era figures and features, not a verified current course rotation or update schedule. Which game works for playing with friends?
For cross-platform console matches, check PGA TOUR 2K25’s specific modes
2K Support says crossplay covers PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Societies and Ranked Play. The Switch 2 announcement refers to cross-platform Societies, but does not establish that Switch 2 joins every crossplay mode or platform combination. Confirm the mode and platform support directly before setting up a group.
For same-console local play, consider EA SPORTS PGA TOUR
EA Help says Quickplay supports local multiplayer for up to four players. The cited EA documentation describes online play as same-platform. For HOT SHOTS, Bandai Namco confirms multiplayer, but the cited product information does not give a directly comparable local-player limit or mode breakdown.
