The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max fall within the phone-size and weight range DJI recommends for the Osmo Mobile 8 when used without accessories. That is a useful physical-fit check, not confirmation that either exact iPhone model is officially supported. The available evidence supports six gimbal candidates—not a verified top ten—so this guide compares those options and explains what to confirm before buying.
Will an iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max fit a gimbal?
Apple lists the iPhone 18 Pro at 71.9 mm wide, 8.75 mm thick, and 211 g. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is 78.0 mm wide, 8.75 mm thick, and 249 g. DJI recommends phones measuring 67–84 mm wide, 6.9–10 mm thick, and 170–300 g for the Osmo Mobile 8. Both bare iPhones fit those published limits. Apple’s specifications and DJI’s fit guidance do not, however, establish model-specific compatibility.
DJI’s surfaced compatibility material names iPhone 17 and earlier, not iPhone 18. Insta360 also publishes a Flow 2 Pro compatibility list, but the surfaced list does not name iPhone 18. Check the manufacturers’ current lists and app or firmware requirements before purchase: model-specific support can change. DJI’s support specifications are another reference for the stabilizer’s stated limits.

A case, lens attachment, microphone receiver, light, or other accessory can add width, thickness, or weight and interfere with clamp clearance or balance. A bare-phone fit does not guarantee that a built-out rig will fit or stabilize properly. If you plan to use accessories, compare their combined dimensions and weight with the gimbal’s published limits, and confirm that the camera lenses remain unobstructed through the gimbal’s full movement.

How to choose the right gimbal for your filming
Start with fit and balance
Compare the manufacturer’s supported phone width, thickness, and weight with your complete setup. Then check clearance for the camera bump, buttons, ports, and any attached accessories. A published phone-weight ceiling is not enough if the clamp cannot hold the phone securely or the rig cannot balance.

Find out whether tracking works in the iPhone’s native Camera app, requires the gimbal maker’s app, or depends on a particular feature or accessory. DJI describes DockKit-based tracking for Osmo Mobile 8 in more than 200 iOS apps, but verify that your intended app and phone are supported. App count alone does not establish that every feature works in every app.

Read runtime figures in context
DJI states approximately 10 hours of Osmo Mobile 8 operating time under a balanced, level, stationary test condition without accessories. DJI also says tracking, fill light, and phone charging shorten runtime. Treat that figure as a manufacturer test result, not a guarantee for a moving shoot or a fully accessorized setup. The cited material does not provide equivalent runtime figures for every candidate, so a like-for-like battery comparison is not established here.

The strongest documented fit case in this shortlist is the Osmo Mobile 8’s recommended dimensions and weight range compared with Apple’s bare-phone specifications. That supports a physical fit assessment, not an official iPhone 18 compatibility claim. For the Flow 2 Pro, the official list is useful to check, but the surfaced version does not name iPhone 18.
