There is no verified best-in-slot DMZ weapon build for Hajin yet. Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, and the official guides describe the mode’s hazards and preparation tools but publish no tested weapon rankings or attachment combinations. For now, choose a loadout around your mission, expected visibility, engagement distance, and hazards—and validate weapon and optic choices in the FOB firing range before relying on them.
Why Hajin calls for adaptable loadouts
DMZ is an extraction mode built around looting, completing objectives, fighting enemy forces and rival Operators, and trying to extract with rewards. Weather, locations, and threats vary, so a setup suited to one deployment may not suit the next. The official Hajin field guide describes the mode and its environments; the official DMZ overview covers changing weather and hazards.

Choose a loadout for the deployment
| Loadout approach | Best fit | Prioritize | Trade-off to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low-visibility setup | Rain or fog, where seeing and identifying threats may be harder | An optic and weapon combination you can read and control at the distances you actually encounter | A sight picture that feels clear in the range may be less useful in poor weather or at a different distance; verify it in play |
| Combat-ready setup | Higher-threat areas or objectives likely to involve loud, exposed fights | Reliable handling for your expected engagements, with protection and supplies suited to the mission | Chosen gear may affect movement or inventory capacity; compare those costs against the fight you expect |
| Stealth and exploration setup | Free Roam or an objective where avoiding attention is preferable | A route and mission plan that limit unnecessary exposure, alongside a weapon you can use confidently if detected | Stealth is situational, not a guarantee of avoiding enemies or extracting safely |
| Fallout-zone setup | A planned entry into the eastern heavy-fallout area | A gas mask, which the official overview identifies as required in that area | Do not treat the mask as a universal requirement for every deployment |
Low visibility: optimize for what you can identify
Rain can reduce visibility, and fog can complicate navigation and engagements. Build around the distances you expect to encounter and choose an optic whose sight picture you can use confidently. This is a practical response to the conditions, not a developer-published meta. Try the setup in the firing range, then reassess if the weather or encounter distances make it hard to identify targets.

High threat: account for exposure and noise
Areas have different threat levels, and loud play can provoke a violent response from local forces. Rival Operators add another reason to weigh exposure against the objective. For a likely fight, favor a setup you can control reliably and consider the protection and supplies your plan calls for; balance these choices against mobility and inventory costs rather than assuming heavier gear is always better.
Stealth or exploration: let the objective determine the plan
Stealth may be useful in some areas, while Free Roam allows a less objective-driven deployment. If avoiding attention matters, plan a less conspicuous route and avoid unnecessary fights. No weapon attachment should be treated as making an Operator invisible or guaranteeing a safe extraction.

Fallout: bring the hazard-specific item
If your route enters the eastern heavy-fallout area, bring a gas mask: the official overview identifies it as required there. That advice applies to the specified area, not every Hajin run. The same overview notes that crafting can produce improved plate carriers and backpacks, but does not establish a universally best recipe.
Match the setup to your deployment goal
The official PlayStation guide identifies Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, and Free Roam as deployment choices. It also points to missions and Orders, boss hunts, looting, and vehicles as ways to progress. Those activities change what a useful loadout needs to support; none is proof that a particular weapon build is optimal.

- Story Missions: Let the mission’s objective and route determine whether you need to prioritize combat readiness, exploration, or a specific hazard item.
- Dynamic Operations: Since the objective can shape the encounter, favor a setup you can use across the distances and threats you expect, and avoid overcommitting to one unverified build.
- Free Roam: Decide whether exploration, looting, or optional fights are your priority, then choose protection and equipment accordingly.
These are planning considerations, not official class recommendations. The PlayStation guide provides the deployment and progression context.
Test weapons and optics at the FOB
The FOB is the practical place to refine a setup before deployment. The official Hajin guide describes a firing range with targets from close range to more than 100 meters. That distance describes the range’s target placement, not a weapon-performance result.

- At the FOB, equip the loadout you intend to try.
- Use the firing range to practice with the weapon and optic, beginning at close targets and moving through the available distances.
- Pay attention to whether the sight picture is easy for you to read, whether you can control the weapon, and which target distances feel comfortable.
- Change one element at a time, then compare how the revised setup feels under the same practice conditions.
- After deployment, reassess against the actual weather, threat level, and mission rather than assuming range practice proves field performance.
Call of Duty’s guide specifically recommends testing weapons—especially optics—and sharpening aim at the range. It does not publish a preferred optic, a winning attachment combination, or numeric comparisons between weapons.
What is—and is not—known about the Hajin meta
As of the official guides dated October 5, 2026, there is no published best DMZ loadout for Hajin, no official weapon or attachment ranking, and no measured survival statistic to support a claim that one build performs best. The broader mode overview is dated June 6, 2026. Because Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch October 23, 2026, live weapon behavior and balance may not yet be established by these sources; revisit choices after launch and balance updates.
