Treat any ranking as an author’s judgment rather than an official or settled competitive order. Three guides published in September 2026 produce markedly different results: one puts Tanya and Marcus in S tier; another places Laurie, Bob Simms, and Alexis Purcell there while rating Tanya and Marcus lower; and Destructoid ranks Jennifer Aarons and Rachel Calahan at the top but had not evaluated Bob or Laurie. Which civilian should you pick?
Tanya Harrison for phone and follower support
A September 10, 2026 guide describes Tanya as a support option whose phone-status information and follower-protection trait can help a team focused on those tasks. That makes her a sensible pick when your squad values information and protecting followers. The guide’s favorable ranking is not shared by every source: a September 14 guide puts Tanya in C tier, which is a reminder that tier placements depend on the author’s criteria.

He is not universally rated highly: the September 14 guide places him in B tier. Choose him for the tasks his kit supports, not because one list calls him top tier.
Laurie Strode as a balanced fallback
If you want flexibility rather than a narrow specialty, Laurie is a reasonable fallback. One stat-comparison reference calls her the safest all-purpose choice because she is the only civilian in its table without a stat below 6. That is an argument about the spread of listed stats, not proof that she has the highest win rate. Laurie also appears in S tier in one September guide, but another guide had not evaluated her.

The available reference uses four different stat categories rather than one overall power score. It associates them with distinct tasks:

Do not simply add the four values and treat the sum as a definitive ranking. A high score in one area may suit your intended job, while a weakness may matter less if a teammate covers it. The reference itself warns that totals can hide specialization and patch-dependent scaling.
Check stats and access before committing
One fan roster reference says its values were read from a preview video and were not checked against the current patch. Treat those numbers as provisional, not as current verified stats; compare them with the in-game display before making a decision. Guides also note that map and role change a civilian’s practical value. Check which characters you can actually select: some lists may omit late-unlock civilians or newer kits, and your available roster can depend on unlock progress or edition access.
