There is no verified, server-wide “best character” ranking for Kuroko’s Basketball Street Rivals. Guides published in March and April 2026 repeatedly identify Zone Kagami, Akashi, Aomine, Murasakibara, and Midorima as strong options, but disagree on tiers. For a practical first investment, choose a role you enjoy and can field consistently: Zone Kagami is presented as an accessible scorer, Akashi as a flexible but resource-intensive playmaker, and Midorima as a specialist for players committed to long-range shooting.
How to choose who to invest in
Published tier lists are snapshots, not proof of a character’s win-rate advantage or an objective ranking. The March 11, 2026 guide by Oman Bilal and the April 8, 2026 list by Sho Roberts use different evaluations; Roberts also notes that ranking every character is difficult and advises players to choose according to preference. Neither source establishes an authoritative ranking across all regional servers.
Start with the job you need your lineup to do, then weigh how comfortable you are executing that character’s play style and how specialized the upgrades are. The guides do not share an official scoring rubric, so the comparisons below are qualitative rather than a common measured score.
- Team fit: Invest in a role that complements the players you already use, rather than chasing a tier label in isolation.
- Execution: A high-ceiling character may be a poor first choice if their combos or positioning are difficult for you.
- Upgrade commitment: Consider whether the build’s skills are useful across roles or concentrate investment in one specialty.
- Availability: Check your own server and version. Character variants and community opinions can change over time.
Characters worth considering
| Character | What the cited guide highlights | Best fit | Investment consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zone Taiga Kagami | Explosive dunk offense and straightforward positioning; described as effective in lower and mid ranks and a strong reroll target by Bilal’s March 11, 2026 guide. | Players looking for an accessible scoring option. | The guide presents him as comparatively straightforward to use; it does not publish a measured upgrade cost or performance rate. |
| Seijuro Akashi | Offensive and defensive flexibility, with playmaking value, according to Bilal’s March 11, 2026 guide. | Players who want a versatile playmaker and expect to commit to building him. | The guide says unlocking his full potential requires substantial skill-tree investment. No official total cost is stated. |
| Shintaro Midorima | Three-point scoring and some defensive utility, according to Bilal’s March 11, 2026 guide. | Players who specifically want long-range shooting. | The guide cautions that shooting-guard upgrades are specialized and less transferable to other positions. |
| Aomine | Unpredictable offense and a high offensive ceiling, according to Bilal’s March 11, 2026 guide. | Players willing to learn a more demanding offensive style. | The guide warns that longer, more complicated combos can challenge beginners. |
| Murasakibara | Included in Roberts’s S tier on April 8, 2026; the list does not establish a universal ranking or a specific investment cost. | Players considering him as part of a balanced formation. | Available evidence here does not detail his upgrade burden or execution difficulty. |
| Kuroko and Imayoshi | Included alongside Kagami, Aomine, Murasakibara, Akashi, and Midorima in Roberts’s S tier on April 8, 2026. | Players whose existing lineup benefits from their roles. | The cited list does not provide a comparable upgrade-cost or difficulty assessment for these characters. |
These descriptions reflect the named guides’ evaluations, not independent testing. For broader context, [Bilal’s March 11, 2026 character guide] details character trade-offs, while [Roberts’s April 8, 2026 tier list] places Kuroko, Kagami, Aomine, Imayoshi, Murasakibara, Akashi, and Midorima in S tier and recommends balanced court formations.

Practical picks by player type
If you want a straightforward scorer
Zone Kagami is the clearest candidate in the cited material for an accessible offensive investment. Bilal describes his dunk-focused offense and positioning as effective in lower and mid ranks. Treat that as the guide’s evaluation, not a guarantee for every rank, server, or matchup.
If you want a flexible playmaker
Akashi is the more suitable consideration if you value contributions on both offense and defense and are prepared to invest in his skill tree. His flexibility is attractive, but the guide specifically flags the build commitment.
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
If you want to specialize in long-range scoring
Midorima fits players who want three-point shooting and are comfortable with a more position-specific build. His shooting-guard upgrades may be less useful if you later switch to a different role.

If you enjoy complex offense
Aomine may appeal if you are willing to learn longer, less straightforward combos. The cited guide’s warning matters most for beginners who want a character they can use comfortably right away.

Why server and version matter
Tier lists can age as characters and variants change. A July 2026 community discussion includes later LG variants and conflicting opinions about their relative value; it is evidence that the conversation moves, not a definitive ranking. Check that a list covers the same regional server and version you play before spending scarce upgrade materials. The discussion is available at the July 2026 community thread.
The game’s January 18, 2024 announcement describes Street Rivals as a free-to-play 3D basketball competition for iOS and Android, originally released in Japan on November 16, 2023. It also documents limited character draws and automatic conversion of duplicate character cards into awakening cards. These are dated details, not confirmation of current banner or duplicate-card rules. See Five Cross’s January 18, 2024 announcement.

The cited guides do not provide an official, current total upgrade cost for these characters. An App Store review mentions a cost of around 50,000 gems to max a Generation of Miracles character, but that is an individual, unverified account—not an official price table or independently measured figure. It should not be used as a budget estimate. The review appears on the App Store listing.

Because a reliable total cost is not established, make decisions using the visible in-game requirements for your version and avoid committing resources solely on the strength of a tier label.
